Job Description

CACI’s Advanced Systems Development Group is looking for an Electrical/Computer Engineer to join our Reverse Engineering Team. Do you enjoy working with both hardware and software to determine exploits in systems? Are you interested utilizing industry standard reverse engineering tools to find vulnerabilities in systems? Join CACI’s Advanced Systems Development Group and be a part of a fast-paced, technical design team focusing on Reverse Engineering.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Reverse engineer embedded firmware and software drivers using industry standard tools

  • Asses the hardware and software hardening of systems and apply novel exploits to them.

  • Build prototypes, products, and systems for testing of exploits; set up and run laboratory simulations

  • Work on a multi-disciplinary team with electrical, compute, cyber, and rf engineers.

  • Assisting with planning, conducting, and evaluating approaches to meet project objectives in a timely, cost-effective fashion.

  • Analyze, design, develop, and maintain products; assist in commercialization.

  • Design testing procedures and coordinate testing. Conduct tests, document results, and develop client presentation

More About the Role:

Reverse engineer unique hardware and software systems, commercial drones, and other cutting-edge complex systems. Support Advanced System Development Group with domain expertise on embedded systems and DSP.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Progress towards a BS/MS degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering with an emphasis on Reverse Engineering (ABET/EAC Accredited)

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in the field of electrical / computer engineering with a focus on Reverse engineering

  • Proficient with IDA Pro or similar disassembler

  • Knowledge of known vulnerabilities from alerts, advisories, and bulletins

  • Proficient with C/C++ with a focus on embedded systems

  • Familiar with electronics test equipment including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, O-Scopes, Power Meters, Power Supplies, Waveform Generators, etc.

  • Must have strong mathematics skills

  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Able to work both within a team and autonomously as tasks dictate.

  • Able to digest new technical information at a rapid pace for practical use.

  • Appropriate time management capabilities - able to both pace workload and provide feedback to leads on task progress.

  • Ability to work under the supervision of a mentor

  • Eagerness to improve efficiency and streamline work procedures.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience in reverse engineering electronic devices from start to finish.

  • Experience in reverse engineering electronic components and circuit boards.

  • Familiarity with Android OS and Android app exploitation.

  • Knowledge of computer architecture (Memory, I/O, Instructions)

  • Knowledge and experience in security disciplines including, but not limited to, software security, operations security, administrative security, and communications security.

  • Knowledge of security system design tools, methods, and techniques.

  • Experience with soldering and re-working (e.g. through-hole, surface mount, cable assemblies, wire harnesses).

  • Understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Software Defined Radios (SDR), and Embedded design
