About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join the Aquarium team in Jumeirah Burj Al Arab . The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Hygienic preparation of fish and sea turtle diets
Feeding of fish and sea turtles
Maintaining hygiene in the back-of-house areas
Maintenance of aquarium life support systems
Maintenance of interior decor in the exhibition tanks of the aquarium
Diving when scheduled or as required (minimum qualification equivalent to PADI Advanced Diver)
Assisting with sea turtle rescue, rehabilitation, and release at various locations
Carrying out engineering and/or husbandry checks
Water chemistry analysis and record-keeping
Being fully familiar with and complying with relevant policies and procedures relating to fire, emergencies, evacuation, safety, first aid, the technical services department, and security
Being fully familiar with the guidelines outlined in the employee handbook and posted in key areas throughout the SBU
Being knowledgeable about husbandry, diving, and aquarium procedures, as well as any health and safety aspects related to them
Performing other duties that management may reasonably require from time to time
Reporting to and communicating any issues regarding the aquarium displays to the Curator and Director
Assisting with aquarium logs, including diving, turtle treatments, and water quality analysis
About you:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Minimum High School diploma
Fluency in the English language.
Good communication skills
Basic computer skills
Marine biology-Aquarium related academic certification (desired)
