About the Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef - Pastry in Jumeirah Al Qasr. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Prepare and cook high-quality food according to menu guidelines, recipes, and instructions from senior chefs while ensuring adherence to hygiene, food handling, and cleaning standards.
Support the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef in setting and maintaining food service standards in compliance with company policies, quality procedures, and industry best practices.
Assist in menu development by contributing creative and seasonal ideas using the finest ingredients while working within established guidelines.
Communicate and resolve kitchen-related issues by informing senior chefs and implementing necessary actions for smooth operations.
Oversee and participate in staff training, ensuring that team members follow established procedures while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in compliance with HACCP and Jumeirah SOPs, including proper waste disposal and record-keeping.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School.
At least 5 years of experience in progressively more complex and responsible roles, ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.
Expert in menu development, pricing, production, and delivery skills.
Expert in food quality and presentation skills.
Expert culinary knowledge of both classical and international culinary trends.
