About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Waiter/ess to join our team in Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables with a smile. Provide detailed explanations of menu items, emphasizing ingredients and cooking methods as needed.
• Ensure awareness of allergy information for menu items and assist guests accordingly.
• Inform guests about daily specials and exclusive promotions not listed on the menu.
• Verify guests' identification to comply with alcohol age requirements as per local law.
• Recommend food and wine pairings confidently and accurately take orders, including special requests.
• Serve food elegantly and accurately using established techniques.
• Handle cashiering duties efficiently using the MICROS system, ensuring accurate billing and payment processing.
• Assist in various restaurant tasks, including answering phones and addressing guest inquiries about specials and themes.
• Coordinate with bartenders for beverage orders and collaborate with kitchen staff to expedite food orders promptly.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
A minimum of one year and six months of similar experience in a reputed hospitality brand or a standalone restaurant is required for this role.
Proficiency in English is required, ideally complemented by proficiency with a second language (Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, German and Greek) with strong communication abilities).
Desirable working practical knowledge with Opera, SevenRooms, or Micros.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
