About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Executive - HSE to join team at Jumeirah Burj Al Arab . The Senior Executive is responsible for assisting the HSE Manager in managing the overall operations and administration of the department; prepare & produce reports & records as required & as directed, coordinate with BAA HSE Representatives, ensure high standards of HSE performance and compliance with Jumeirah Group HSE Requirements. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Assist the HSE Manager in developing & implementing Burj Al Arab Health, Safety and Environment Management System, producing appropriate report for BAA Senior Management. (Including Corporate Management).

  • Assist HSE Manager in Providing & implementing HSE Policy, Procedures & Guidelines for Burj Al Arab.

  • Assist HSE Manager in developing & implementing guidelines for BAA Engineering Team and monitor their progress.

  • Monitor and assess performance and compliance to Jumeirah HSE MS, produce appropriate reports for the business.

  • Review standard health and safety documentation in line with Jumeirah HSE MS as required.

  • Review & present “Jumeirah HSE Report” for Burj Al Arab and arrange monthly HSE representatives meeting.

  • Make requests for service as required in respect of contractors providing services for consultancy, e.g. third-party auditing, laboratory analysis.

  • Monitor contracts / service schedules, follow up & provide feedback to clients as well as auctioning contractor’s reports, etc. & communicate as appropriate to colleagues.

  • Prepare documents and process for Tender program for external contractors related to HSE issue.

  • Communicate new or amended procedures to relevant departments/colleagues in a timely manner.

  • Obtain quotes for the purchase of items & services with Purchasing & produce purchase requests. Follow through outstanding PRs & POs & take action as necessary to progress them.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • UAE National as per government requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree holder, with a certificate of IOSH or NEBOSH or any regional equivalent.

  • 0-2 years of experience in HSE, preferably in hospitality sector

  • Must possess a good knowledge of local and international legislation, standards, and best practices

  • Demonstrates a good understanding of food hygiene

  • Good English and Arabic Communication skills

  • Must possess a good knowledge of local and international legislation, standards, and best practices

  • Demonstrates a good understanding of food hygiene

  • Excellent Command in Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and PowerPoint

  • Good time management skills with the ability to interact with different groups of diverse needs.
