About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Assistant Manager - HSE to join team at Mina Al Salam . The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the HSE Manager in managing the overall operations and administration of the department; prepare & produce reports & records as required & as directed, coordinate with Departmental Managers, ensure high standards of HSE performance and compliance for all departments. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Support Assist HSE Manager in developing & implementing Jumeirah Health, Safety and Environment Management System within SBU, producing appropriate report as required for Senior Management (G&C HSE Management & Business unit management)

  • Assist HSE Manager in implementing HSE Policy, Procedures & Guidelines for SBU, through daily, weekly and monthly audits in the property

  • Work with the HSE Champions in the departments to assist & guide them in producing their reports

  • Make requests for service as required in respect of contractors providing services for consultancy, e.g., third party auditing, laboratory analysis; handling issues with external contractors as needed

  • Monitor contracts / service schedules, follow up & provide feedback to ‘clients’ as well as actioning contractor’s reports, etc. & communicate as appropriate to colleagues

  • Handles administrate activities & inquiries to the SBU HSE Department

  • Handle the details associated with HSE conferences, meetings etc.

  • Coordinate the training and development program for the Group HSE staff

  • Communicate new or amended procedures to relevant departments/colleagues in a timely manner

  • Draft and review of appropriate contracts and progress to approval

  • Schedule and arrange to purchase approved Capex items, budgeted items, including equipment

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • UAE National as per government requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree holder, with a certificate of IOSH or NEBOSH or any regional equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSE, preferably in hospitality sector

  • Must possess a good knowledge of local and international legislation, standards, and best practices

  • Demonstrates a good understanding of food hygiene

  • Good English and Arabic Communication skills

  • Must possess a good knowledge of local and international legislation, standards, and best practices

  • Excellent Command in Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and PowerPoint
