About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for Commis Chefs to join several restaurants in Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab . The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Maintain awareness of the line manager's requirements and outlet's operational concept, adhering to the standards for high-quality food preparation.

  • Prepare ingredients including measuring, mixing, and seasoning meal components.

  • Handle vegetable, fruit, and meat preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping, cutting, seasoning, and marinating.

  • Execute basic culinary tasks like salad and sauce preparation.

  • Ensure proper stocking of food items in refrigerators and freezers.

  • Follow recipes and plating guides precisely.

  • Monitor inventory supplies and assist with food rotation to maintain ingredient freshness.

  • Restock service lines and prepare workstations for subsequent shifts.

  • Maintain personal hygiene and appearance to high standards.

  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly and ensure follow-up.

  • Comply with Health, Safety, and Environment procedures, including HACCP guidelines and audits.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or upscale standalone restaurant, showcasing a solid grasp of high-end hospitality standards, ideally in a pre-opening environment.

  • Proficiency in English is required.

  • College degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited culinary school is highly desirable.
