About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Sales Manager-Leisure to join Zabeel House the Greens by Jumeirah. The main purpose of the role is to assist in leading the SBU's segmented sales effort for Leisure market preferably in a 4* hotels category. Responsible for increasing preference, loyalty and profitable share within assigned Leisure accounts and contribute to overall Sales Team success through the direct sales efforts of revenue generation and value creation. Executes the overall account strategy for assigned Leisure accounts to generate and maximize business.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

  • Deliver assigned KPI targets for the Leisure segment (monthly, yearly).

  • Make recommendations to the DOSM on necessary sales plans or strategy revision to increase sales from own accounts / leisure segment.

  • Act as the single point of contact within Zabeel House the Greens by Jumeirah for the Wholesale / Leisure segment.

  • The ideal candidate should have an existing relationship and a solid network of top leisure partners, travel agents, and DMCs.

  • Full account management to negotiate and produce FIT & Group proposals/contracts for assigned leisure accounts and geographic regions.

  • Obtain current accurate knowledge of the organizational structure, both formal and informal, of own accounts, and business and update frequently.

  • Follow up closely on developments of the competitor hotels (occupancy, structural alterations, renovation, special campaigns, rate promotions, marketing efforts, theme events, etc.). Also, explore and compare FIT and Group traffic (who is accommodating guests in which hotel) amongst the competitors and identify new business opportunities accordingly.

  • Communicate effectively to GSOs on all issues relevant to their accounts to maximize market penetration/exposure.

  • Be fully current with actual / budgeted volumes, revenues, and occupancies.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key wholesale and leisure partners.

  • Take full ownership of your own performance. initiate, implement, and update ADPs for assigned accounts in line with the departmental guidelines.

  • Act (and assist others when required) as a specialist in the Leisure segment keeping yourself updated and informed about all their highs/lows, major movements, and trends within the industry segment(s)

  • Ensure all your customer/partner data is collated, summarised, and consistently updated in Jumeirah Sales systems (e.g., Salesforce, CRM)

  • On a weekly basis, prepare an activity report from the system which will cover sales call reports, site inspections, fam-trips, new agencies, meetings, entertainment, and other functions you participated in during the week and present it to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

  • Set and meet customer expectations and facilitate objection handling.

  • Attend industry networking events, roadshows, and city briefings to broaden relevant commercial contacts.

  • Identify and develop partners / opportunities from new source markets and diversify the hotel's portfolio to increase sales.

  • Plan and conduct customer entertainment regularly.

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct site inspections, and host designated leisure fam-trips frequently as per the business needs.

  • Balance customer service needs with Jumeirah’s business needs to achieve Jumeirah sales targets.

  • Attend tradeshows and JT road shows inside/outside the region as designated by DOSM.

  • Maintain and grow positive customer and partner relationships.

  • Use data accurately to guide your sales activity and KPIs daily.

Participate in preparing sales action plans, attending sales meetings, and developing special packages, tactical, and promotional activities undertaken by the sales department.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Tourism Management, or related major

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position in Dubai

  • Proven Leisure Account Management experience

  • Hospitality sales experience within 4* or 5* hotel industry in the Middle East

  • Strong sales and presentation skills.

  • Commercially (targets and results) focused

  • Organized and disciplined, dedicated and loyal

  • Friendly, pleasant and easy to be around, draw energy from being with others

  • Business management, interpersonal, and facilitation skills

  • Segment knowledge + skills including principled negotiation, contracting and service level agreements

  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hotel and Tourism Management, or related major

  • Hospitality Leisure sales experience within 4* or 5* hotel industry in the Middle East
