About the Job:

To support Director, HR in the daily operation of the department, providing generalist HR support for colleagues and managers alike. Ensuring that processes, procedures and administration run smoothly and are consistent with other SBUs/SSUs and according to hotel and company policies.

Your main duties will include:

  • Manage the recruitment activities of managerial roles (grade 8 and above) and to ensure the hotel is adequately staffed as per the workforce plan and colleagues meet Jumeirah standards.

  • Advise on HR policy and UAE Employment Law that might impact on working practices to ensure compliance.

  • Provide opportunities for colleagues to discuss typical employment and personal issues to increase engagement and improve performance.

  • Maintain effective business processes in the HR department to ensure efficiency and customer service.

  • Assist and support the colleague engagement events and recognition ceremonies.

  • Manage and ensure the accomplishment of the HR projects, meeting the deadlines.

  • Manage and update the HR projects, KPIs, departmental balance scorecard, the Presentation and Variance Calculation

  • Coordinate the Colleague Opinion Survey action planning and monitor progress

  • Conduct interviews with candidates for colleague through to middle manager roles (grade 8 & 7) in all departments to ensure quality hires.

  • Liaise with the Human Resources Service Centre team for the on-boarding process of the successful candidate.

  • Coach and counsel colleagues and managers as appropriate to ensure appropriate discussions and actions take place.

  • Ensure the HR team member is appraised, consulted and developed for mutual benefit and continuous growth.

  • Review the HR Monthly reports e.g. performance business review, monthly turnover, executive summary, etc.

  • Review the Monthly HR Profit and Loss and ensure it is well managed and monitored

  • Together with Director - HR, plan the annual HR budget

  • Manage the vacation planning and workforce plan forecasting; ensure the department heads manage their manning according to the business needs

  • Manage the HR strategy and processes, make sure the HR Standards and Compliance are met

  • Liaise with the project managers or person in charge for any HR systems related issues

  • Support Director - HR in the daily operation of the department, providing generalist HR support for colleagues and managers

  • Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management team including assistance for large events or hotel functions

About you:

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Diploma in HRM (or similar discipline)

  • CIPD highly regarded

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HRM or international equivalent

  • Recognized training qualification

Experience

Essential:

  • One year experience in a similar role

  • Working with multi-cultural teams

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Middle East

Skills

Essential:

  • Management skills

  • Expert in Oracle and Gantner Time & Attendance skills

  • High level of written and verbal business English

  • Organised and able to prioritise and work to deadlines

  • Competent in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Departmental trainers

Desirable:

  • Other languages
