Project Controls at Black & Veatch provides timely industry-best plans, schedules, forecasts and analyses to assist project management in achieving optimum project performance. Project Controls processes and tools are used to plan and schedule the scope of work, and to organize the as-sold budgeted costs to support monitoring, measuring progress, reporting, and forecasting the overall performance of a project.

Advanced entry level position assigned to either a role in Scheduling or Cost Engineering or a combination.Under appropriate supervision, performs routine project controls assignments according to training, capability and experience. In addition to performing duties as assigned, this position is primarily focused on seeking responsibility in the areas of scheduling, costing, and concepts related to the industry technology and project management. Individual contributor with no subordinates.

Key Responsibilities

Understand Black & Veatchfunctional organizations and interfaces. Understand constructability concepts. Assists with project forecasting.

Cost:

• Maintains Project Cost Report and Cash Flow w/ supervision.

• Assists with input to monthly/quarterly Reports.

• Facilitates quantity management reporting.

• Maintains Change Management Program.

• Assists providing invoice back-up.

Scheduling:

• Assists in preparation of summary schedule.

• Assists in schedule maintenance and resource loading.

• Prepares & maintains productivity reports.

• Assists in critical path and float analysis.

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

  • Previous Project Controls Cost experience (Schedule/Cost).

  • Previous Power Construction Project Controls experience.

  • Prior experience related to Transmission & Distribution projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Four-year Bachelor's degree with one or more years of relevant Cost Control of Planning & Scheduling experience OR no four-year Bachelor's degree required with five years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience in Home Office or Field Office.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Industrial Project Construction Job Site: May involve fieldwork.Sitting, speaking, grasping, hearing, keyboard input (Computer usage for extended periods of time), seeing, writing, reaching, climbing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, walking and standing for extended periods of time.

Typical Office environment: Sitting, standing for extended periods of time. Computer usage for extended periods of time. Typing, Speaking, Listening. Ability to utilize video/audio conferencing software for internal/external communication purposes.
