Ingersoll Rand is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Data Analyst - Finance, reporting to the Analytics Manager for Commercial Finance. The Senior Data Analyst - Finance will be responsible for providing reporting and delivering analysis and insight to support strategic decisions and financial operations within the Industrial Technologies & Services business unit. The ideal candidate should be passionate about working with data and using their findings to guide the organization. This analyst is expected to have the ability to operate independently, develop and apply analytical solutions to key business problems, and communicate analysis insights effectively.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and distribution of daily, monthly and quarterly reporting

  • Cleansing, blending, and providing data needs for Sales Channels, Finance, Product Management, Marketing, and Services Teams

  • Participate in data validation of key tables within the Ingersoll Rand Data Lake

  • Support the Analytics Manager and Business leaders to assess and frame business problems

  • Analyze data to evaluate trends, identify risks and opportunities, improve profitability, and drive business decisions across the organization

  • Partner with leaders to design and implement robust dashboards and analytics packages to manage area performance including insights by sales person and geographic location

  • Assist with development of business case modeling and improving business forecasting and Annual Operating Plan processes

  • Provide financials used in sales compensation reporting ensuring accuracy

  • Evaluating and recommending improvements to current models, metrics, and analytic processes improve operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or relevant quantitative discipline

  • Minimum 3 years of financial analyst or finance analytics experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Tableau and/or Qlik/Power BI user having 2-3 years of professional experience with an ability to create data visualizations.

  • Highly skilled in utilizing Excel for analysis and building decision models

  • Strong financial acumen, analytical, problem solving, data management and business partnership skills required

  • Excellent analytical and business modeling skills

  • Must be energetic, forward thinking, and creative

  • Must be detail-oriented and deadline sensitive

  • Experience cleansing data

  • Must be inquisitive and open to challenging traditional processes and thinking

  • Self-driven for continual learning and ongoing training/development

  • Ability to both work independently and as part of cross functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Hyperion preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency coding proficiency with Alteryx (or another ETL tool), SQL and experience with data infrastructure

  • Experience with SAP or Oracle

  • Expertise with data visualization techniques using tools like Tableau and/or Qlik and a willingness to learn new technologies

  • Demonstrated skills in the design, development, and validation of descriptive analytics

  • Experience working with Snowflake data cloud

  • Experience with supporting data governance and data quality initiatives, including developing and implementing data standards, policies, practices and procedures to improve data integrity

  • Experience with VBA, Oracle, Access and other BI tools

  • Experience in business analytics
