Job Summary :

We have a very exciting opportunity for a strong leader (field/engineering) to join our Chiller product management team as a Senior Product Manager – Air-cooled magnetic bearing chillers. You will be responsible for leading products strategies/roadmaps, managing products throughout their lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining product vision and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver dramatic growth. In this newly created role, you will be working directly with our PGT Leaders on a wide variety of strategic products, offerings and programs. This role will help to support increased speed of decision making and increase our PGT’s balance between the customer, our organization and our associates/sales channel.

You will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Applications/Systems, Marketing and Product Support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Senior Product Manager’s role also includes ensuring that product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy around sustainability and electrification of heat. Your analytical skills will allow you to make decisions around the product lines to accelerate profitable growth. You will be fully responsible for – and accountable to – meeting or exceeding Trane Technologies’ revenue growth targets, maintaining or growing market share, while expanding margin.

Where is the work:

This is a Remote position.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

  • Participate as a member of the Product Growth Team (PGT). This is a cross functional team including the Product Manager, Operations Leader, Engineering Leader and Solutions Marketer focused on driving profitable share growth.

  • Lead product line strategy and long-range plan development, P&L and annual operating plan for product lines. Effectively manage tradeoffs between short- and long-term product line performance as measured in revenue, margin, and market share.

  • Develop and execute channel strategy aimed at developing and maturing channel capability to drive growth in market coverage and closure rate to enable product line to reach it entitlement in the market.

  • Collaborate with market research team to understand customer needs, and define the customer “Critical to Quality” specifications (CTQs) for product line and associated systems to support new product development programs (NPDs)

  • Develop and execute a multigenerational product plan (MGPP) for product line, ensuring that the product positioning, pricing, cost, margins and customer value proposition support the overall equipment strategy and direction.

  • Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted business issues and align resources on proposed concepts, solutions and approaches.

  • Initiate and support business cases for NPDs that execute elements of MGPP.

  • Pricing Strategy- Determine pricing objectives, policies, and strategies. Review competitor data to assess the correctness of pricing. Ensure that the pricing strategy balances the need to increase market share and maximize profit margins. Review and assess prices continually to ensure they are competitive, profitable, and consistent. Ensure that the pricing strategy is consistent with the business strategy.

  • Collaborate with other leaders and Portfolio Leaders to ensure product line strategy is in alignment with peer portfolio’s roadmaps and supports the broader system, services and contracting initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business and at least 6 years of work experience in Sales, Engineering or Product Management is required.

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.

  • Sales experience in Commercial HVAC is preferred.

Essential Knowledge, Skills or Competencies:

  • Lean experience preferred.

  • Financial Knowledge -Understand product full stream financial metrics and levers to quickly identify areas of concern and develop necessary actions to maintain product profitability.

  • Data Analysis — Knowledge of statistics, and its applications to analyzing data.

  • Business Acumen — Knowledge of principles of business strategy and execution including portfolio management strategies, supply chain management and financial indicators.

  • Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

  • General Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • Customer and Channel Strateg y – Capable of analyzing end-user and channel segments to identify and target the most profitable segments.

Base Compensation Range is $130,000 - $180,000.

Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
