Trane Technologies Portfolio Manager - HVAC Technician Productivity in Davidson, North Carolina

The Role

As Portfolio Manager your role is to lead the execution of projects and programs that will have a positive impact on the productivity of our HVAC Technicians. This includes direct leadership, collaboration, delegation, and coordination of our technician productivity strategy development, commercialization, and field implementation. You will collaborate with, and work closely with project managers, cross-functional teams and directly with our Regional offices and Service Technicians. Reporting to the Director of NA Service Operations

This position is a remote role and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Principal Responsibilities (others may be added):

· Define and execute a multi-year vision and strategy for improving technician productivity in alignment with Trane’s long-term goals and initiatives.

· Lead the development and implementation of a series of projects and programs to improve the productivity of our technicians across North America.

· Define solution value propositions for the portfolio of projects and be accountable for the overall implementation of service technician productivity improvements.

· Collect, organize, and prioritize internal and external voice of technicians and customers for clear and efficient translation into technician, customer, and business requirements.

· Work with other project leads to provide updates of incremental financial, quality, and project status.

· Define clear, measurable goals and metrics for the portfolio of projects that represent success for our customers and our business.

· Partner with regional field teams to implement process changes and improvements and facilitate best practice sharing.

· Collaborate with our Fleet team to ensure vehicle selections and upfitting address the productivity needs of our technicians.

· Support Field Technologies Leader on identifying and deploying technician-specific technologies that improve productivity and customer satisfaction.

· Work closely with digital and energy services teams to optimize the use of field technician technologies and tools.

· Apply lean principles and the phase/gate process to lead projects and drive continuous improvement opportunities.

· Create and validate business case models for HVAC Service technician productivity opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

· A minimum of 10 years’ leading an HVAC Service business/team

· A minimum of 5 years’ leading a portfolio of projects and/or programs; or similar experience

· Demonstrated success defining and launching projects and services at an enterprise level

· Ability to lead a team through strategy development and execution

· Strong grasp of HVAC fundamentals and the HVAC technician role

· Lean Principles and Phase/Gate experience preferred

· Demonstrates active listening and communications skills. Must be able to articulate and present ideas in a clear, concise, and logical manner.

· Ability to build successful employee relationships to foster productivity and a sense of urgency that provides superior end-user experiences.

· Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority

· Sound project management, analysis, problem resolution, team building, judgment and decision making skills

Must be able to travel 20-30% of the time.

Annual Base Pay Range - $124,000 - $177,600

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed. Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
