Where is the work:

This is a Remote position.

What you will do:

CHVAC IT Domain Architects define, own and improve end-to-end solutions that meet the needs of users and stakeholders of IT products and business processes throughout the CHVAC Americas landscape. We ensure that all components of a solution follow Trane’s architectural tenets and that the solution as a whole gives users the best experience possible.

Each Domain Architect will be a leader, a learner, a problem-solver, a collaborator, and a coach. You are part of the CHVAC IT Architecture Team, which prizes T-shaped employees who bring diverse areas of expertise together to help each other create solutions that achieve Trane’s business and IT goals. You will be the designated Architecture team expert for one of a few large domains of IT products such as Acquisition, Fulfillment or Financials. In your domain, you will have a thorough understanding of how our technologies and applications function to meet the users’ needs. You will also be the designated Architecture point of contact and partner for a business value stream such as Equipment, Building Services, Energy Services or International. Because the stakeholders’ needs in that value stream may cross into other domains, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from your peers who have deeper expertise in those areas as you design end-to-end solutions.

· Take ownership of the end-to-end solution for all products in your domain

· Understand and document how our end-to-end solutions work

· Build and maintain strong working knowledge of:

o User personas, customer and employee experiences, business processes, stakeholder priorities and associated requirements across the products in your portfolio(s)

o our architectural tenets, design patterns and decision trees established with your IT peers across the enterprise

o the data architecture throughout your end-to-end solution

· Serve as a strategic IT partner who guides and governs Portfolio Managers and product teams to achieve Product Roadmap(s)

· Create strong relationships as you partner with your fellow Domain Architects, Portfolio Managers, product and project teams, business stakeholders, Enterprise Architects, and technical experts from various platforms used at Trane

· Define domain level Target State Architectures and Solution Roadmaps with viable interim states that incrementally deliver value

· Document and achieve alignment on decisions made

· Where the roadmap identifies needs for new architectural enablers to be bought or built, you will collaborate closely with Platform Team and Enterprise Architects to evaluate solution options and choose technologies to implement. You will participate in Proofs of Concept and Pilots led by the

appropriate Platform Team.

· Hold yourself and your supported product and project teams accountable for the quality of the

end-to-end experience of users. As the end-to-end solution owner, you will pay special attention

to the quality of the solution it crosses the boundaries of more than one application or technology

· Hold yourself, your fellow architects and your product teams accountable to follow our architectural tenets, use existing design patterns and preferred technologies wherever possible, and to design any new architectural tools for maximum extensibility and reusability

· Coach product teams how to avoid bias to a specific technology or solution approach, rather to let

the requirements, our architectural tenets and our established design patterns objectively determine the best solution.

· Follow the lead of Portfolio Managers to communicate with stakeholders to gain stakeholder understanding of and buy-in for our roadmaps and solutions

· Eliminate, replace or improve components of our solution architecture that do not meet architectural standards and vision defined by and in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture team and other architectural partners.

What you will bring:

· Minimum 5 years of experience and proven mastery of implementing end-to-end

· solutions that meet IT and business goals

· Working knowledge of a wide variety of solutions and business processes that are

· relevant to a global manufacturer and service-provider such as Trane Technologies

· Deep subject matter expertise in one of more technologies or applications that are

· relevant to a global manufacture and service-provider such as Trane Technologies

· Aptitude to learn new technologies and business processes quickly, with experience

· diving deep into new subjects matters

· Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills. The successful candidate

· will demonstrate an ability to communicate upward, downward and laterally in the

· organization

· Proficient at negotiating, persuading, and driving issues to resolution; builds support and

· agreement by engaging all interested parties and understanding their perspective

· Experience interpreting, enforcing and implementing architectural standards as defined

· by IT governance bodies

· Experience within Commercial HVAC industry is a plus

· Working knowledge of different IT platforms including WorkSight, Salesforce, R12 and Legacy systems is a plus

· Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies

· BS degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent experience

· Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $150,000 - $190,000

Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
