Job Summary

The Data Center Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth for our data center services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the data center industry, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a proven track record of achieving growth targets.

Where is the work:

This is a Remote position.

What you will do:

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth understating of current Data Center customer buying behaviors and systems/application trends.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.

  • Analyze competitors and develop strategies to differentiate our solutions and services.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the data center market.

  • Foster strong relationships with our sales teams and account managers dedicated to the Data Center market, leveraging their expertise to drive revenue growth.

  • Collaborate with our sales teams to develop and implement strategic sales plans.

  • Collaborate with the VGT to create and execute impactful marketing campaigns, increasing brand visibility and market share.

  • Enhance brand awareness through professional networking and active presence on social media platforms.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish and nurture customer relationships, expanding our reach into untapped markets and enhancing engagements within existing accounts.

  • Represent Trane at industry events and strategic client engagements, establishing our brand as a thought leader in the Data Center space.

  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Contribute to Strategic Account and Opportunity Reviews, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and technical support, to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Understand and communicate client needs and market trends to our broader Data Center vertical market team to influence new solutions and offerings development and ensure they meet our customers’ needs

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and client feedback.

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities and progress.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience.

  • Strong technical understanding of Data Center technologies, systems and applications.

  • Background in thermal management systems preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the data center or IT infrastructure industry.

  • Existing network of industry relationships is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated track record of success in business development and execution.

  • Strong understanding of data center technologies, services, and market dynamics.

  • Ability to travel 25 – 40% of the time

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $150,000 - $244,500

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
