Trane Technologies Business Development Analyst in Davidson, North Carolina

Job Summary:

Trane Residential business serves a broad customer base in multiple segments through company owned and independent wholesale channels and supply stores in North America for Residential and Light Commercial HVAC equipment, parts, and supplies. The Residential HVAC industry has numerous macro trends affecting the market landscape: home electrification, decarbonization, energy efficiency regulations, technology advancements, and many more. As the Business Development Analyst, you will play a vital role in providing analytical support and market research that will influence the strategic direction of initiatives, inorganic growth, partnerships, and our innovative product and service offerings within the residential business unit.

The work location for this role will be hybrid with location flexibility when workflow and priorities allow. Hybrid: Davidson, NC, Columbia, SC, Lacrosse, WI, and Tyler, Texas. We will consider other locations where we have an office location.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough market research and feasibility studies to analyze the viability of alternative business development opportunities.

  • Understand strategic drivers, market dynamics, competitor strategies, operational characteristics, and customer behavior to support business development strategy and inorganic growth pipeline.

  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to key stakeholders and executive leadership in a clear and concise manner.

  • Create standard process for assessing trends in competitor AHRI ratings, market share, and product portfolios to provide actionable competitive insights to the product growth teams.

  • Partner with the Corporate Innovation team, Corporate Development, and other Strategic Initiatives teams to help mature target opportunities.

  • Lead critical project tasks in the development of innovative products and services.

  • Develop and maintain internal and external partnerships in strategic market domains.

  • Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, market analysis, or related field

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize complex data sets

  • Occasional travel required

Key Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, statistical analysis, data visualization tools, and financial modeling.

  • High degree of comfort with navigating projects with ambiguity

  • Strategic thinker with good business acumen

  • Gather, analyze, and manage quantitative and qualitative data using a variety of primary and secondar research methods.

  • Develop business cases that thoughtfully outline market opportunities, propose an approach to derive benefit, establish financial models to estimate opportunities quantitatively, and expose key sensitivities and uncertainties.

  • Industry and market analysis including sizing markets and segments, evaluating channels, conducting value stream analysis, identifying and evaluating potential partnerships, and identifying resulting business opportunities or threats.

Target Base Compensation Range is $70.000 - $100,000 annually.
