CVS Health Sr. Director, Internal Audit Data Analytics in Cumberland, Rhode Island

Job Description

This role is responsible for the development and implementation of the Data Analytics and continuous audit agenda for Internal Audit. This role will supervise as well as execute data analysis as part of numerous audit projects within Internal Audit, to enlarge the data analytics skills of the internal audit teams. This role will also be responsible for constructing a program, which independently evaluates the execution of processes and procedures as well as controls in an automated continuous way, leveraging a suite of technologies across CVSHealth. It will also be responsible to work with business owners across the company to deploy transformation projects aimed to process improvement and developing Key performance and risk indicators. This role is responsible to develop a mature D&A process can benefit the IA function by automating the collection, formatting and mapping of key organizational data, and applying various tools to analyze and interpret the data in a more meaningful and effective way. This can result in more focused audits that can focus on specific areas of risk, conduct more dynamic audit planning, and seek a greater balance of controls versus transaction analysis based on the underlying business issues and risks. The use of D&A tools within a continuous auditing process provides a greater degree of assurance regarding the effectiveness of the controls and the accuracy of transactions, while significantly reducing audit costs, resources, and time. • Plans agenda for the audit team to minimize on-site reviews as well as assists in vital areas of focus such as financial performance, compliance, operations, and strategic objectives• Provides strategic director for the audit function in relation to better use of technology and automation as well as develop a continuous assurance model for the audit function• Plans a model and user developed tool audit agenda that guarantees regulatory and risk management goals are met.• Review of outputs and performance, model data, theory, assumptions, implementation are constant with regulatory guidance and CVSHealth policies.• Supervises the design of value-added data analysis in order to discover the suitable use of data to bring value to all ongoing audit assignments.• Supervises the development and construction of the Data Analytics/Model Audit platform within Audit.• Reviews and approves work to safeguard that it meets or exceeds IIA expectations.• Achieves data discovery and analytics using Computer Assisted Auditing Tools (CAAT), Excel, or other data analytics tools, as part of exact audit assignments led simultaneously by the internal audit teams; counsel heads of assignment and supervisors with behaviors to obtain and use data.• Proactively classifies vital data sources and attains access, feeds, and files necessary to complete data analytics.• Contributes to the expansion of data analytical testing methods (procedures, guidelines, templates, etc.) to encourage proficiency and enlarge the use of data analysis within internal audit.• Provides leadership on data analytical training events and develops goals to further the capability of the Internal Audit team.• Interpret model validation test outcomes and establish mandatory action strategies with model owners and developers to remediate discoveries.• Construct robust working relationships with vital model participants, including model developers, users, validation teams and senior management.• Tracking the resolution of conclusions with model owners and users.• Expands the audit coverage model by employing quantitative methods to identify anomalies for testing or additional analysis.• Leads a team of data scientists and technology experts

Required Qualifications

• Ten (10) + years of associated professional experience in data analytics, financial services, internal audit, compliance or risks/controls.• Five (5)+ years of experience developing key performance and risk indicators

Preferred Qualifications

• Capacity to work in a team environment as well as independently.• Six (6) years of risk management related work experience preferred.• At least Ten (10) + years’ experience with Excel, Access, SQL, or similar software is strongly preferred.• Proven experience developing a technology strategy and experience with RPA solutions• At least Ten (10) + years’ experience working with large complex data sets, drawing conclusions, and reporting discoveries is strongly preferred.• Established acquaintance of leading model risk management practices and applicable regulatory guidance• Confirmed capacity to use analytics to support business or audit processes• 5 Years of experience with Implementation of SAP S4 Hanna• Capacity to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word proficiently and acquire other computer skills as needed• Prior experience reporting to the head of audit of a publicly traded company • Demonstrated knowledge or experience in managing efforts or teams relating to emerging data and auditing technologies.• Demonstrated ability to lead or play a major role in taking an organization through significant change while maintaining accountability for progress and completion of required duties.• Experience in a highly dynamic environment undergoing change.• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills to clearly frame and interpret issues.• Experience working in a highly regulated industry at a company with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred• Concentration in Data Science, Accounting, Finance, and/or business related required
