CVS Health Senior Analyst, Indirect Tax Technology & Operations in Cumberland, Rhode Island

Position Summary:

CVS Health is seeking an experienced tax technology professional, with a proven ability to navigate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a large and complex organization and join efforts in driving change.

As a Senior Analyst, Indirect Tax Technology & Operations, you will report to the Manager, Tax Technology & Operations. Your primary responsibilities include working with internal and external partners to ensure all tax technology obligations are met. Success in this role will require a passion for identifying and driving process improvements, enthusiasm for leading change, and a keen eye for process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the integration of technology solutions that streamline tax compliance and align with CVS Health’s omnichannel approach.

  • Serve as a liaison between Tax, IT, and other functions to implement tax technology strategies that optimize operations, minimize risk, and increase value added work.

  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to understand business objectives and provide technological support to ensure tax matters are fully contemplated and addressed.

  • Configuration and maintenance of tax systems for tax determination and calculation.

  • Ongoing testing of various tax systems.

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models for interactive visual and reporting analytics for the tax team.

  • Supporting and maintaining deployed Alteryx workflows.

  • Document tax technology requirements, processes, and procedures.

  • Support ongoing projects and business initiatives and assist with special projects as requested.

  • Stay current with industry trends in applications and methods related to data analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of indirect tax technology experience or a related role.

  • Experience with implementing and/or configuring and maintaining indirect tax calculation software such as Vertex and Onesource.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recent experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, results-oriented tax department or similar work environment.

  • Experience in data management, data manipulation and data visualization.

  • Experience with process automation, improvements, and standardization, ensuring enhanced controls, and delivering timely, high-quality results.

  • Deep understanding of indirect tax laws, regulations, concepts, and principles.

  • Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and tactfully, both verbally and in writing, successfully translating always-complex tax rules for business partners and customers.

  • Ability to work productively with a high degree of independence and with accuracy and high attention to detail, while knowing when to seek guidance or assistance.

  • Strong ability to apply standard methodologies to organize and prioritize tasks.

  • Multifaceted, meticulous, and analytical problem solver with a goal towards efficiency and process improvement.

  • Vertex Certified Implementer certification is a plus.

  • Ability and initiative to learn new systems required to perform job responsibilities.

Preferred Computer and Software Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA.

  • Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Determination and Vertex O Series.

  • Experience with programming language such as C#, Python, and VBA.

  • Working knowledge of dashboarding and reporting tools such as PowerBI and Alteryx.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$43,700.00 - $107,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
