Atrium Health Integrative Nurse Specialist (RN) - Atrium Health Cabarrus Integrative and Wellness Medicine (Inpatient) PT Days in Concord, North Carolina

Job Summary

Functions as a resource and provider of complimentary integrative modalities to patients through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation and evaluation in accordance with the Integrative Medicine and Wellness department hospital policies and procedures under the supervision of Leadership. Disseminates information, collaborates with nursing, physicians, other health care providers, patients and families to facilitate quality care. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, culture, developmental stages and special needs of the patients served.

Essential Functions

  • Acts as a clinical liaison to nursing and other service departments concerning integrative healthcare.

  • Assists and supports holistic nursing education within specified clinical and outpatient areas.

  • Conducts holistic and integrative nursing assessments and triages patients for appropriate integrative care.

  • Develops an integrative medicine plan that prescribes strategies and complementary therapies to attain expected outcomes.

  • Utilizes appropriate integrative resources to plan and provide integrative complementary services that are safe and effective.

  • Collaborates with the integrative medicine and Wellness team regarding patient's plan of care.

  • Documents treatment interventions and outcomes in patient medical records according to professional and hospital standards.

  • Participates in identification and implementation of outcome projects and research to further promote Integrative Medicine and Wellness Center of Excellence.

Physical Requirements

Walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling required. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 51 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment and supplies. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch and finger dexterity.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure to practice as a RN or temporary license as a RN Petitioner in the state of NC or compact state as appropriate. Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a hospital setting. Certification in Holistic Nursing required. Prefer additional certifications in complimentary therapies (aromatherapy, guided imagery, energy medicine). BSN required. MSN preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.
