Job Summary

Reporting to the Provost and is responsible for leadership and oversight of the College’s health programs.

Essential Functions

  • To lead all non-nursing health faculty and appropriate support personnel.

  • To execute fiscal oversight for the department, including preparation, monitoring, and implementation of program budgets.

  • To provide innovative leadership of curriculum development and course delivery.

  • To lead and provide oversight of program assessment and continuous improvement.

  • To ensure core compliance with accrediting and approval bodies’ requirements.

  • To prepare timely and accurate document preparation and communication.

  • To maintain high-quality programs which serve the needs of the College, its students, the healthcare system, and the community.

Physical Requirements

Office and travel time; majority of time distributed between intra- and extra-facility walking (15%). Frequent periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, and stretching. (70%) Occasionally lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries items weighing up to 30 pounds (15%). Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. May require some exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to the clinical environment. Responsible for working in a safe manner. Generally, works days with occasional evenings, nights, and weekends.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Master’s degree or higher in an allied health discipline, higher education, related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university. Minimum of 4 years clinical practice experience. Minimum 5 years teaching experience required including at least 3 years in either an associate’s, baccalaureate, and/or master’s degree program.

One year program management experience required. Excellent leadership, management, critical thinking, decision making, computer, interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.

Photocopiers, computers, and other standard office equipment. Instructional technology applications and electronic devices required for daily administrative and instructional responsibilities. Healthcare equipment and tools appropriate to the program discipline for instruction and patient care in clinical settings.
