Role Summary:
As part of the School Assessment team at Pearson, Content Development Services focuses on creating formative, interim, and summative assessments for K-12 education. The Implementation Manager is a new role designed to standardize processes, introduce efficiencies, and build collaboration across the many groups involved in delivering our assessment programs. Implementation Managers will use their experience in content and assessment to create standardized processes, forecast the level of effort associated with development tasks, and contribute to the development of schedules and consistent workflows. Implementation Managers will support existing project teams and, with an eye for efficiency, will build on existing processes and create new processes as needed. Implementation Managers will communicate process, schedule, forecast, or workflow changes to the teams and will monitor progress and gather feedback related to the effectiveness of any changes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and implement comprehensive and project-specific process documentation and job aids to support the content development team.
Ensure that consistent, efficient, and best practice workflows are implemented across the Content Development Services team (i.e., core Content, AA/ELL, Multimedia Services, Editorial, Research Librarians, Copyrights &Permissions).
Support the creation and ongoing review/updates of “levels of effort” forecasts to assure managers and directors that resource allocation aligns with project needs.
Review and support the development of project schedules to ensure timely and efficient delivery of assessment content, both within specific programs and across the span of all programs handled by the team.
Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
Establish and foster positive, productive, and collaborative relationships with internal resources, vendors, project partners, and external customers.
Support risk mitigation and contingency planning for content development projects.
Support the team in adapting to unforeseen and unexpected requests or changes in priorities.
Qualifications:
Master of Education or equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor's degree required.
A background in educational testing and assessment industry is strongly recommended. Item and test development experience, as well as teaching experience, is a plus.
Experience with
implementing and/or creating process documents or the best-known ways for assessment projects,
assessment best practices, including large-scale high stakes assessments, that can be applied to estimating level of effort, and
skillfully simplifying and training others in complex processes.
A minimum of five years’ professional experience managing or leading cross-functional teams required.
Experience specifically in the education field is highly desired. These experiences can include: personnel management, proposal and project management, business-capture planning, customer-relations management, financial management, and subcontractor management.
Must have outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to provide complicated solutions to complex problems tailored to a variety of audiences.
Excellent project planning and organizational skills are required, including the ability to coordinate a variety of different projects and individuals, and to adapt to unforeseen and unexpected requests or changes in priorities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in a teamwork environment, are desired.
Travel depending upon contract requirements.
