Summary of Duties:
The Academic Technology Director provides leadership and strategic vision for the instructional design, multimedia production, and classroom support functions within the Office of Information Technology in the College of Education and Human Ecology. As a member of the OIT leadership team, this position leads, mentors, and coaches the Academic Technology team. In alignment with OIT goals and the college’s strategic vision, this role directly oversees a portfolio of Academic Technology service offerings. The roles is responsible for the management of a budget, prepares cost analyses, and develops reports for college leadership. The selected candidate allocates financial and human resources to support the implementation of high-performing programs and day-to-day operations. This includes supervision of three staff members and a team of student employees. Finally, the incumbent explores and promotes emerging learning technologies to foster innovation in daily work productivity, teaching, and learning within the college. The Academic Technology Director provides recommendations as well as short and long-term visions for Academic Technology’s service portfolio, instructional and multimedia design processes, and EHE’s learning spaces.
Bachelor’s degree in education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; two years of experience in instructional design, an in-depth understanding of the practical application of course design principles and methods. Familiar with Learning technology systems, classroom Audio/visual technology, and multimedia production practices.
Five years of experience in instructional design and teaching. Demonstrated experience integrating technology into higher education courses. Demonstrated ability to build communities of practice and promote collaboration amongst diverse teams of varying education levels.
Target Salary: $75,000.00 - $81,000.00 Annually
