The Pfizer Digital Health, Medicine AI & Analytics team creates comprehensive technology solutions for our external customers. This includes all digital (web, mobile, omni-channel, & devices) products, platforms, services and experiences in service of:

  • HCPs

  • Patients and Caregivers

  • Clinicians & Study Participants

Solutions teams within the Digital Health, Medicine AI & Analytics team are driven to ensure that every health system stakeholder is given easy access to the information and tools they need to manage the best possible outcome for patients.

ROLE SUMMARY

The DHMAI Strategic Program Director role will directly lead management and creation of Key Strategic Programs and experiences directly supporting Enterprise-level and Pfizer Executive Leadership Team members' goals and objectives for the DHMAI Unit projects and creation and enhancement of all solutions across all business units worldwide.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Strategic Programs

  • Single point of coordination and oversight for a strategic DHMAI initiatives in support of the Bold Moves transformation program including roadmaps, financial forecasts, tracking, communications, etc.

  • Responsibilities will vary depending on resources and capacity but could include the role of dedicated Project Manager on large projects and/or providing project leadership to multiple mid-size projects.

  • Deploy significant leadership, influence, and transformation management capability in unusually complex interactions across multiple geographies/countries, collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders across Pfizer.

  • Establish and develop project teams, ensuring teams are balanced with the skills and diversity needed, and include the right SMEs from across DHMAI, Digital and BioPharma Operations, Global Business Units and Global Enabling Functions, with roles, expectations and responsibilities defined.

  • Management of project costs, from initial estimates to delivery of projects within budget using standard project management tools and governance structures

  • Manage a portfolio of initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders, navigating competing priorities, and ensure goals of transformation are met through the right tools, listening, communications, stakeholder engagement, user experience, and success measures.

  • Consistently build and maintain strong business partner relationships, both internally and with external partners.

  • Communicate program status and identify any obstacles or risks and steps for mitigation to stakeholders, including those in executive roles, in a clear, concise, professional, and timely manner.

  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively at both detail and big-picture levels and to drive initiatives forward

  • Deploy significant leadership, influence, and transformation management capability in unusually complex interactions across multiple geographies, countries, and across Biopharma Ops, Digital and other enabling function matrices.

  • Executes both independently, as part of a solid line and a complex matrix reporting team. Acts independently to uncover and resolve issues

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in exhibiting high level of business knowledge and understanding of the external marketplace and anticipates Global Business Unit customer requirements for patient and caregiver solutions while actively sharing knowledge across Global Business Units.

  • Must have a Proven track record of using knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, related industries, customer requirements and the general business environment to define strategic actions Global Business Unit

  • Must have proven experience contributing to the development of long-term strategy of a Global Business Unit

  • Must have proven experience in being an excellent, engaging leader and manager, with proven capabilities in using the talent and succession planning processes to establish plans for managing talent inside and outside the organization and for improving diverse leadership bench strength. Proven ability to mentor technical leaders; recruit and retain top talent and develop colleagues.

  • Must have proven ability to manage communication as a vehicle to ensure alignment of strategies and day-to-day operations to team members and business unit partners in support of patient facing products, services and experiences.

  • Proven capability to foster open communication across the D&T Global Business Unit to ensure the knowledge and expertise of all organizational resources are leveraged.

  • Demonstrated experience in anticipating, overseeing and influencing change that has a transformational impact on the D&T Global Business Unit and on the Global Business Units supported.

  • Have demonstrated ability and experience in technology solutions delivery in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment with demonstrated capabilities managing large scale, enterprise software requirements definition, designs and implementations in global 24-by-7 environments.

  • Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiations with cited impacts to strategic direction and in-line production products.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with indirect resources geographically distributed.

  • Demonstrated capabilities with software development processes, systems design and development management, testing (unit, systems, end user acceptance, performance, and load) and systems integration.

  • Demonstrated capabilities managing large complex global programs consisting of capital and operating expenses and virtual teams.

  • Proven financial and resource management capabilities, ideally in within Pfizer

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management preferred with related field and proven technical experience with emphasis on software development and maintenance.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience as an information technology professional in one or many roles such as a software developer, technical project manager, systems administrator, database administrator, systems engineer, computer engineer or support specialist.

  • Proven progressive experience as an IT technology professional, preferably in a pharmaceutical industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial resources including contract labor, capital allocations, and business operating funds.

  • Demonstrated progressive experience successfully designing, delivering and maintaining IT business solutions for mid to large-scale organizations across multiple hardware and software platforms. Must have demonstrated competency / expertise in:

  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking, and relationship management. Technology solutions delivery in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment

  • Line management experience in a global organization with demonstrated career development and coaching expertise, including performance management, succession planning and new hire planning

  • High level of awareness of internal and external technology trends.

  • High proficiency and proven successful delivery of experiences using Agile development, especially scaled agile and lean, techniques and methodologies (Disciplined Agile, SAFe, etc.)

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Travel MAY be required as part of this role. Expectations around travel will vary but candidates must be capable of travel within the region, to other regions, and to Pfizer World Headquarters.

Business Technology is a 7x24x365 endeavor. This role may require physical or virtual participation on a weekend, holiday, or after normal business hours
