Novant Health Surgical Technician (Scrub Tech)- Ambulatory Surgery Center in Clemmons, North Carolina

Job Summary

  • Schedule: PRN. This PRN position does not have a set schedule or guaranteed hours but requires the candidate be able to pick up shifts on Tuesdays & Wednesdays around the centers need (can work other days in addition, as needed). The hours for the OR are 6:45A-3:15P. This center is closed on weekends and major holidays.

  • Department: Operating Room (OR)

  • Location:7210 Village Medical Circle, Clemmons, North Carolina

  • Information: This is an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), there are 3 OR's, procedures range. The ASC Surgical Technologist is expected to work in an operating suite for the center. The ASC Surgical Technologist is able to function as a team member in an ASC environment through cross-training to other primary areas, assisting with turnover, and all other aspects of day-to-day ASC operations.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.

  • Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification: Current Surgical Tech certification, preferred.

  • Additional skills required: For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements apply: new graduates must obtain certification within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.

  • Additional skills preferred: One to two years of experience in sterile processing or equivalent training if assigned solely to sterile processing.
