Pratt & Whitney’s Forging Center of Excellence is looking for an Associate Quality Director to lead a diverse team of hourly and salary Quality employees. This position will work with the PW HMI Quality organization, and will be responsible for the following: As a Quality leader, you'll provide the strategic management and direction to the Quality Control organization regarding the planning, direction, and control of all product inspections and the organization’s overall Quality system health. We need a person that will exhibit and foster behaviors that conform to the highest levels of business integrity. Ensuring compliance to company, customer, regulatory, and other procedures and requirements, the Associate Quality Director will foster a Quality culture throughout all functions within the organization. Through leadership and effective communication, we expect you to drive the tactical execution of the Quality Management System. This is a leadership role that requires integration and collaboration with the facility Quality Manager and associated teams. Included aspects of this leadership role are:

  • Establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and safety.

  • Implements and helps to maintain the site Quality Management System in accordance with current quality standards, reporting on the performance of the quality system for review and as a foundation for improvement.

  • Directs the day to day quality and production output and initiatives, to include the prioritization and completion of parts throughout the value stream, from forging to finished goods.

  • Supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of inspection procedures and technologies.

  • Drives product and process improvements that ensure that the Site’s quality metric goals are met (Escapes, Scrap, Rework, Throughput, Process Certification, UPPAP).

  • Organizes, promotes and leads quality improvement efforts.

Safety is our number one priority. Chairs or participates in at least one major site committee for Environmental, Health & Safety. Focuses on Employee Engagement thru communication, training, teaming management practices, and employee respect to foster a diverse culture of engaged and committed employees.

Qualification: Quality experience in manufacturing required. Proven experience in ACE operating systems, or lean manufacturing.

Masters degree a plus.

Education: Bachelors Degree required.
