Role:

The Retail Marketing Coordinator is a hybrid sales/marketing role that sits in the Sales Organization and works hand in hand with the Marketing Organization. This role will be based in our office in the Fulton Market neighborhood of Chicago, IL, and will report to the Associate Director of Retail Marketing. The individual will work to increase sales, market share, and brand awareness by means of Retail Marketing program development, sales, marketing presentations, POS materials, cross-functional management, business planning, and messaging creation. This role will collaborate among various Marketing sub-departments to develop marketing activities and programs for key customers such as; digital, social, omnichannel, experiential marketing, events, retail activations, and trainings. This role must ensure that all trade funds are leveraged in a way that is impactful to both consumer behavior and the Vital Proteins bottom line.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Your accounts will span across all regional based natural, conventional, and specialty retailers with a focus on Beauty, Fitness, Military, Discount, and Convenience channels

  • This role will strive to create day-to-day relationships with our Regional Sales team members to understand their sales goals, opportunities and drive marketing tactics to impact their velocities and support launches.

  • This role will partner with their sales counterparts to query and understand secondary placement opportunities where we may gain better placement and revenue

  • Work closely with Sales operations on program ROI and evaluating Go-to-Market and optimization by channel, segment, and consumer

  • Work directly with sales & omnichannel team on marketing assets for Websites, in-store, sampling, and event execution

  • Drive accountability through business review process and drive business process improvement with the Sales team on specific accounts - Monitor and measure results to identify best practices.

  • Act as a primary communication channel between the creative team and sales team for specific accounts including following standard timelines set with the creative team

  • Help manage integrated planning for launches, line extensions, all promotional efforts, and sustained account support

  • Manage our communication cadence to our wholesale accounts via our monthly newsletter and promotional materials such as shippers, gift with purchase programs, wholesale promotions, etc.

  • Maintain and organize our asset libraries to ensure streamlined access by all our regional and national sales team members.

  • Initiate and write marketing briefs, including client insight articulation, Vital Proteins differentiators, key messages, demographic/local insight and aligns with VP overall comprehensive brand strategy

  • Conduct post-analysis and report on the efficacy of campaigns

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field

  • 3 + years in marketing or related experience.

  • Willingness to travel (including nights and weekends at times) up to 30%

  • You are passionate about fitness, beauty, wellness, and a healthy lifestyle

  • You are a self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative, define what needs to get done and multi-task

  • You have strong written and oral communication skills; an eye for all things creative

  • Excellent people and management skills with the ability to connect programs and gather alignment across many stakeholders including cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and consumers

  • You are a true problem solver, and seek to define and improve processes and programs as you work through challenges

  • Must be naturally curious with good business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
