Position Summary

This position will oversee the large group, fully-insured commercial forecasting process and provide actuarial support to markets in the Southeast region.

A strong candidate will:

Oversee the large group, fully-insured commercial forecasting process for the Middle Market segments. This includes recommending and facilitating model updates, overseeing model assumption setting, and presenting findings and results to stakeholders.

Provide actuarial support to the Southeast markets. This includes supporting the large group rate review process and being a strategic market partner.

Manages and develops a team of actuaries which includes hiring and training, setting performance goals, providing coaching and mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Influence resources within and outside of direct control to complete projects and tasks.

Effectively balance and manage competing priorities.

Work collaboratively with business partners to achieve desired outcomes (e.g., strategizing with market partners to balance margin and membership goals).

Have excellent verbal and written communication to effectively convey observations and recommendations to various audiences. Articulates complicated ideas to others and is comfortable interacting and crafting presentations to various audiences and levels.

Have a strong technical background to be able to oversee improvements to the forecasting process for better analyses and greater efficiency.

Actively pursues continuous learning opportunities, participates in actuarial organizations, and contributes to the professional development of the organization.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree along with 10+ years of actuarial experience

ASA or FSA

Demonstrated leadership and project management experience

Strong knowledge of the commercial health insurance markets

Strong communication skills

Strong technical background

Preferred Qualifications

Strong collaboration skills working across various teams

Strong organizational skills

Strong analytic skills, skilled problem solver

History of improving processes and driving efficiency

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
