Pfizer Senior Manager, US Master Data Management (MDM) Product Owner and Program Manager in Cheyenne, Wyoming
ROLE SUMMARY
As a leader in Pfizer Digital's Analytics, Data and Learning organization and Analytics, Tools and Platforms - MDM team, the Senior Manager for US Master Data Management Product Owner and Program Manager will own Pfizer's US master data management solution, execute the program road map and manage the full data lifecycle of US master data at Pfizer.
This role will be responsible for product ownership of the US master data management solutions and the position entails playing the Product Owner role in the Agile DevOps process as well as wearing a System Owner / Program Manager hat for the US Customer Master. This role will be responsible to transform the US MDM from a solution to a product applying a product management mindset to incrementally improve functionality and quality to better serve downstream consuming systems and business process purposes. This role will create and define strategies, as well as develop and deliver solutions that enable the application of master data management practices in support of key business objectives such as customer centricity and enhancing customer experience and improving promotion ROI. Critical to this role will be the support and execution of enterprise governance to support advisory services, change management, data quality and stewardship, portfolio, and enhancement management, run support and ops, data acquisition etc.
This role will also be responsible for product ownership / roadmap / strategy / architecture for Patient / Consumer master data management solution including implementing patient tokenization / deidentification techniques to ensure Pfizer is legacy and contractually compliant and has the highest level of security and integrity of patient data. A successful candidate for this role will be able to work with multiple stakeholders including Patient Services, Clinical, Consumer Marketing, Call Center Operations etc. to identify various use cases for improving patient experience and collaborating with Legal / Compliance and Business to explain the benefits and the guardrails and obtain signoff for implementing it.
MDM Domains include Customer (HCP, HCO, Affiliations, Contacts). Payer (MCO, Payer, PBM, BoB, plans etc.), Patient / Consumer and may expand to include additional domains such as Product, Vendors etc. in future. Scope includes Commercial (Sakes and Marketing), Medical Affairs, Compliance / Finance, Transparency, Patient and Health Impact as well as additional Functional areas for future expansion. Accountability for setting strategy to create and maintain accurate, complete, and timely high-quality data to enable business operations and analysis is also integral to this position. The role establishes a mindset and behavioral standard for the Master Data team and business that leads to data-standard conformance so that master data becomes the enabler for efficient horizontal data integration and democratization. You will also maintain close working relationships with key data owning functions, specifically consulting with business functions on questions or issues related to enterprise Master Data.
This position will also be expected to lead and manage cross-functional delivery and DevOps teams with Pfizer colleagues as well as SI vendors and contractors to ensure the delivery and the management of high-quality solutions.
You will closely partner with senior leaders from Pfizer business units, Digital, and other Pfizer enabling functions.You will have the ability to operate in a transparent manner and effectively influence and communicate with commercial, regulatory, compliance and medical stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing the project portfolio and budget for the US MDM program and build business cases for digital and technology investments and resolve prioritization conflicts with senior leaders as needed.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director / Team Leader, Global Master Data Management Strategy and Engineering the Sr Manager, US MDM Product Owner and Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring high availability and trust in Pfizer's US master data management solutions.
Product Owner / System Owner
Bring product management / product owner mindset to US MDM program to elevate it from a solution to a data product which is scalable and flexible to support new business use cases in this rapidly emerging digital transformation era.
Partner with the Master Data Management team and critical business partners from BioPharma Ops, Compliance and Medical to develop a strategy and roadmap for the MDM program.
Develop solutions to highly complex and unique problems in the relevant customer-type, landscape, often outside their area of expertise.
Facilitate compliance with data-related regulations and practice, such as data privacy.
Portfolio and Program Management
Run MDM projects to support large Pfizer programs for Customer and Patient Centricity, Next Gen Patient Services, Key Account Mgmt., Gene Therapy launch, Veeva Link integration etc. and to support future product launches and acquisition integration or divestitures.
Coordinate the release, maintenance, and project schedules to avoid conflicts.
Manage change request process and facilitates prioritization process.
Governance and Collaboration across Pfizer
Schedule and hosts sponsor, governance, stewardship, and other stakeholder meetings as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
Demonstrate outstanding collaboration and operational excellence to delight downstream system and business owners.
Partner with customers, Business Partner teams, Technical Product Owners and/or organizational leadership to accomplish Global Business Unit and Enterprise-wide HCP and Patient Engagement objectives.
Implementation of Data Governance tools such as Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Reference Data Mgmt., Business Glossary and Data Governance.
Data Quality and Stewardship
Help move Pfizer MDM from a Tools and Platforms focus to a Data Product focus with Data Quality as an immutable characteristic.
Collaborate with DevOps team, Data Quality Operations teams, Technical and Business Data Stewards, Downstream business, and system owners to track and proactively measure data quality, identify areas for data stewardship or business rule enhancements, and resolve issues in an agile manner.
Change Management, Training and Communications
- Develop change management strategy and execute it in partnership with the product manager and client partner to ensure adoption of technical solutions and capabilities.
Innovation
Gathers information about upcoming platform releases and determines which features to add to product backlog for consideration along with solution delivery colleagues and other stakeholders.
Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation (for e.g., AI / ML for matching and data quality, RPA to reduce repetitive Data Stewardship tasks, affiliation recommendations engine, advanced network visualization, mastering or enrichment of Customer 360 data leveraging unstructured and social media / big data etc.)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
7+ years of experience in data management, consulting, and program management.
3+ years developing and implementing master data management solutions. Customer and Patient / Consumer MDM domain in pharma strongly preferred (HCO, HCP, affiliations, patient / consumer).
3+ years in working with and influencing senior leaders (Directors and above) and leading meetings with cross-functional IT and business leads for project management and governance.
3+ years of leadership experience in managing cross functional team members across distributed sites.
2+ years as an MDM product owner / system owner with experience managing a product backlog and with MVP / release / sprint planning.
Ability to work in Agile, Scaled Agile, DevOps methodologies.
Demonstrated collaborative, consultative, problem solving, prioritization and analytical skills.
Demonstrated aptitude and attitude to get immersed in the resolution of technical challenges and technical advancements.
Understanding of various regulatory requirements including data privacy such as CCPA/ GDPR.
Ability to communicate the results of complex analysis to non-technical audiences via effective visualizations and presentations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree such as MBA preferred.
Pharmaceutical or life sciences experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge and experience with Reltio, Informatica MDM preferred.
Additional MDM domain experience such as Payer, Product, Patient and Vendor / supplier
Commercial Data Management expertise (Sales, Activity, Sampling, Alignment, Sales Reporting, Transparency Reporting etc.)
Experience with Patient Tokenization Engines and HIPAA data mgmt. principles.
Deep SQL experience and data analysis with Alteryx, Dataiku or similar exploration tools.
Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, PowerBI etc.
Certified Product Owner or Scrum Master preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change.
Demonstrated change agility to successfully manage a high degree of complexity and multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures and and engage with colleagues at all levels of the organization

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $113,900.00 to $189,700.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.
