Ingersoll Rand Area Distrubution Manager - South in Chennai, India

Scope :

As the Distribution Sales Manager, you will be responsible for sales in South India, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and Sri Lanka, through distributors.

The role will involve reaching out and traveling directly to customers and distributors. You will be primarily responsible for booking growth and will have order booking number and account receivable responsibilities.

This position will work closely with diverse teams with different backgrounds and skill sets.

The industrial activity in the South is comparable to the West, presenting an opportunity for rapid business growth.

With the ability to recruit people in Q2, we are confident of seeing significant growth.

The South has the potential to achieve INR 10 crores by 2026, provided we have a dedicated local DSM who speaks the local language.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and grow profitable sales for the ARO Business through Distribution or OEM channels in the South India region.

  • Partner, drive, and support Distribution to grow the business.

  • Share and provide product, application, and market expertise to Distribution.

  • Analyze market trends, opportunity descriptions, business cases, reports, etc., and provide conclusions to the Sales Leadership.

  • Provide product, sales, technical support to customers and product training to Distributors and OEMs when needed.

  • Introduce and follow new products or local initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Order Management, Marketing, Engineering, or Product Management on problem-solving strategies.

Our Requirements :

  • 10+ years of proven experience in sales with technical products to distributors and end users.

  • Expertise in Positive Displacement Pumps technology and their applications (Ideally Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps).

  • Fluency in regional and English language required, another language is a plus.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel around 70% of the working time.

  • An engineering degree in Mechanical with solid business skills is an advantage.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Pump Market and Chemical Processing Industry is a plus.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to connect with people in a dynamic environment.

  • Self-motivation and ability for independent sales activity.

  • Open-minded attitude and curiosity about new ways to develop our business and your skills.

  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
