Sodexo is seeking an Senior Tax Manager in Cheektowaga, NY at our Financial Shared Service office.

This role will work a hybrid schedule averaging three days in the office and two days from home plus ten work from anywhere days, in the U.S. only, provided annually. This is on top ofvacation, holidays and personal days.

The successful candidate will:

• Supervise the entire sales/use tax compliance function including reviewing return filings, account reconciliations, registrations, refund claims, and tax analyses

• Coordinate the property tax compliance function with third party

• Monitor correspondence and ensure timely resolution. This includes addressing questions from internal and external customers and resolving jurisdiction notices

• Assist third party with requests relating to reverse audit refund claims

• Ensure accuracy of tax return data and implement any necessary changes, including changes resulting from new acquisitions or changes in the tax laws

• Identify any potential compliance exposure and provide guidance toward resolution, including appropriate communication and documentation of issue

• Identify and implement tax saving strategies and process improvements

• Provide leadership and training in the development of staff, including performance evaluation reviews

• Lead and participate in various projects within the department and organization

• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have/are:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting preferred

• 6 years sales/use tax experience, including experience supervising a compliance process (multi-state compliance preferred)

• SAP and Vertex experience preferred

• Strong technical and analytical skills

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines

• Ability to perform multiple tasks, monitor progress toward meeting objectives, and adjust plans and actions as necessary

• Demonstrated problem solving skills and customer service orientation

• Ability to work interdependently with others to achieve goals and responsibilities

• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers

• High degree of initiative

• Excellent oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, & Access)

• Travel as necessary
