The Opportunity Serves as a technical expert who provides development and support leadership in the development and delivery of web applications across the Finance and Treasury LOBs. The Application Development & Support technical lead acts as the subject matter expert on in-house developed Sub Ledger applications heavily dependent on database programming and ETL jobs. This individual may be responsible a group of smaller, unrelated technical projects/break-fix items which involves combination of more than one technology. The candidate is expected to partner with the Product Owner and Technology Lead daily to achieve successful business goals. The Work Itself * Drive technical development and support for technology objectives and business requirements * Assist in the creation of project architecture and detailed design documentation per required deliverables. * Lead application development efforts and perform code reviews, work with software vendors, coach developers, and advise teams of Ally standard requirements, security standards, methodology and processes. * Oversee change and incident management, internal & external audits, disaster recovery, and IAM reviews. * Participate in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy * Work closely with the Ally Architecture team to ensure architectural standards are met in projects * Communicate and validate solution execution with Lead Architect, and program / project manager * Participate in defect triage and work with project team/vendors to resolve prioritized defect fixes * Ensure integrity of new process workflows and transfer knowledge to Sustain and IT Operations teams. * Work with project management counterparts to deliver broad-based, often complex, communication for internal and/or external audiences * Involved in resolving complex data-related issues * Problem solver who values input from various experiences, seek out information to keep the team on track and voice opinions on the most effective way forward * Anticipate the needs of customers, focus work processes on customer satisfaction * Influence key leaders * Handle ambiguity and function effectively in a matrix organization * Efficiency review of existing Finance processes for proposed improvements as well as ensuring current process documentation is proper for use as department resources The Skills You Bring * 10+ years in the application development and support of complex business systems and processes. * 8+ years of database programming experience primarily on Oracle database. * 5+ years in the banking domains with special focus on Treasury and Finance. * Strong experience in Java, ReactJs, and relational database such as SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. * Strong experience in ETL platforms such as IBM Datastage, SSIS, or NiFi. * Strong analytical experience with business reporting with focus on the OBIEE/PowerBI products. * Working knowledge on AWS Cloud Services is preferred. * Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to software development * Ability to think critically and develop high quality project deliverables and ensure technology solution meets requirements How We’ll Have Your Back Ally's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
