TIAA Sr. Messaging & Collaboration Engineer M365 in Charlotte, North Carolina

TIAA has an opportunity for a Messaging and Collaboration Engineer. This position will be a part of TIAA's Engineering team within End User Services and will help us to realize our long-term Messaging and Collaboration strategies. The focus for this role will be as follows: Assessing, planning, designing, testing, documenting and implementing M365 and other collaboration technologies.

In addition, this role will provide third-level escalation support for our global enterprise. This position contributes to promotion of transformative collaboration initiatives leveraging Microsoft M365 technologies, such as Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive.  Come and join our team!

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Contribute to M&A-related M365 migration and integration projects.

  • Contribute to the realization of TIAA's cloud-based collaboration strategy, while continuing to support and evolve on-premises infrastructure when appropriate.

  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for messaging-related incidents and problems.

  • Support team members in resolution of critical incidents, outages and assist with root cause analysis.

  • Engineer solutions which leverage messaging and collaboration tools, enabling internal customers to meet their business requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to automate and/or improve existing processes while adapting them to hybrid cloud topologies.

  • Continuously evaluate new offerings from Microsoft and other providers to evolve our collaboration capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' of operations experience with M365

  • 3+ years’ experience with messaging and collaboration services

  • 3+ years’ experience with Core SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing MS Exchange and MS Exchange Online through PowerShell

  • Familiarity with Graph API

  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts and information to both technical and senior leadership levels

  • Broad experience with technologies in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Teams, Azure, Power Platform, SharePoint

  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 Multi-Geo concepts and Information Barriers

  • Knowledge of non-Microsoft perimeter email and security technologies (Exchange Edge Transport, Cisco IronPort, Proofpoint Email Encryption, Zscaler, Cisco AnyConnect, M365 conditional access)

  • Familiarity leveraging Microsoft M365 security technologies

  • Previous work experience in Financial Services and familiarity with regulatory, compliance, and legal requirements

Base Pay Range: $90,800/yr. - $151,300/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
