About Institutional Markets:

Institutional Markets is a new start-up business within Equitable that provides innovative protected investment solutions to large institutional clients in the Retirement/Pension market and other similar markets (e.g., Healthcare Spending Account funding). Our business is currently experiencing rapid growth and this position presents a rare opportunity to join a highly visible team at an early stage and grow with the business. The Institutional Markets team reports directly to a member of Equitable’s Management Committee.

The Team Member will assist in the design and delivery of innovative product concepts to support the growth of the business. We are looking for someone with strong initiative, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity; enabling us to discover deeper insights about our business and identify innovative ways to accelerate our growth.

Typical Projects will Include

  • Implementation: Guide product implementation from initial ideation to an operational product by collaborating with stakeholders in the Institutional team, IT, Legal and other departments across Equitable

  • Management: Manage products through their lifecycle including identifying and building requirements for a backlog of improvement opportunities, maintaining compliance with regulations, and other matters to improve product performance

  • Equitable is an Agile organization. Familiarity with Agile development and related processes and structures is helpful

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support Institutional Markets product innovation and implementation

  • Manage cross-functional and complex projects to enhance customer and prospect engagement capabilities

  • Track and analyze the outcomes and impact of various initiatives post-implementation

  • Collaborate with various teams across the organization to coordinate efforts and identify resource and other constraints

  • Use data to identify actionable insights to help drive strategic thinking, refine tactics and optimize performance of initiatives.

  • Develop executive presentations and present actionable recommendations to shape the strategic thinking of senior leadership, including guiding the team to deliver very clear, structured and persuasive messaging

  • Identify new and emerging market trends and build competitive intelligence to enable more in-depth insights and/or accelerate our growth

  • Develop business cases in partnership with Team Lead, business area leaders and stakeholders to generate senior management support for initiatives

The base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $95,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years plus of experience in a business, financial services environment

  • Experience with retirement product development, strategy, service

  • Relevant technical skills and experience required: strong skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills to translate complicated technical topics into clear, concise statements

  • Comfortable interacting with individuals across a wide range of seniority levels and business areas

  • Ability to coordinate and gain consensus with a variety or people and teams

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Project management skills and attention to detail

  • Strong critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems

  • Strong collaborative problem solving with ability to gather, analyze and synthesize a significant amount of information, and turn it into a compelling product vision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with employee benefits, life insurance, mutual fund and annuity product development, analysis and business data analysis is a plus

  • Intellectually curious with a passion to challenge the status quo

  • Comfort working in an agile and dynamic environment. that requires the ability to manage multiple, often competing priorities.

  • Belief in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust

  • Readiness to “roll up the sleeves” and to go outside comfort zone to learn
