Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. This includes developing, configuring, or modifying integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments. This role facilitates the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.

Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Omni Channel Systems team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong technical background in software engineering. As a Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development, scalability, reliability, and security of our software solutions while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.

What You’ll Do

Build backend end services using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Java, Springboot, Spring Web flux, PostgreSQL or any Relational database, Cassandra, Mongo or any NoSQL database, Kafka.

Deploy the applications to Lowe’s hosted data centers or the cloud using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform

Define architecture for highly scalable and reliable enterprise systems.

Performance tuning and optimizing applications, for faster response times. Support the applications using data using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Grafana, Kibana.

Who You Are

A software engineer already familiar the backend technologies listed.

Demonstrated the ability to deliver quality, well-documented code.

Able to lead software projects and mentor more junior engineers.

Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to your team.

Demonstrate software solutions to technical leaders and business/product stakeholders.

Where You’ll Be

Associates are required to relocate to the Charlotte region to foster collaboration and facilitate improved testing and support.

Lowe’s supports a Flex Office concept where in-person work is required two days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub

Most business meetings are planned around the Eastern time zone.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience with J2EE, REST APIs, Springboot

Strong technical aptitude – Java/J2EE, Springboot and other open-source technologies

Knowledge of SQL/NoSql databases such as oracle, Cassandra, Mongodb etc

Working knowledge of frameworks like – Spring , ReactJS, JUnit

Experience with CI/CD such as: Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes.

Experience with collaborative planning and defect tracking through BitBucket/GitHub (or related Source Code Management tool like SVN, ADE, etc)

Working knowledge of tools for monitoring and alerting such as Kibana, Grafana etc.

Familiar with agile development lifecycle and worked on the design/development of at least 3-4 projects

Good verbal, written and presentation skills

Effectively organizes and executes a demanding workload

Ability to handle high pressure situations and come up with quick stop-gap arrangements for reducing business impact.

Strong technical and problem-solving abilities are needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field

2 years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization

2 years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software

2 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment

2 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework

2 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports

1 years of experience working with source code control systems

1 years experience working with Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment tools

1 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high level design for complex solutions

Pay Range for CA, CO, HI, NJ, NY, WA: $75,300.00 - $143,100.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
