TIAA Senior Director, Workday Solutions Lead in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Workday Solutions Lead is an experienced Application Manager with a strong background supporting the employee lifecycle in Workday. The individual will support & work on critical programs and be part of impactful change. As a member of the Workday Portfolio Management team, this role will play a key part in defining the future-state of the employee journey. This role also provides overall architecture & design consultation for adoption of solutions during BAU operations as well during change & enhancements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • SME consultation supporting at least one Workday module, including Workday HCM Core, Compensation, Absence, Benefits, Talent and Performance, Learning, Payroll, Reporting, Security, and integrations. In some cases, the SME will support multiple Workday modules.

  • Coordinating cross-functional efforts for Workday product launches.

  • Continuously balances the employee experience with legal and regulatory factors to optimize interactions with Workday.

  • Engage stakeholders to understand their day to day use of Workday, including tracking metrics of Workday usage across the enterprise.

  • Partner with business leaders, HRIS and HRIT teams to align on objectives and programs.

  • Facilitating research, design, development, testing, and delivery of new Workday functionality.

  • Create and maintain documentation of business process, integration, and related data architecture to identify areas of friction, waste, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Identify and confirm technical risks and develop mitigating approaches in partnership with HRIT & HRIS.

  • Influence business and technical leads in best use of Workday out-of-the box tools and features.

  • Troubleshoot system issues and perform root-cause analysis.

  • Think beyond the current project and envision how the solution being developed could be leveraged for future endeavors, considering the business implications of the application technology.

  • Drive Workday best practices with methods and tools to maximize the value of the platform.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

  • 5+ years of Human Resources and Information Technology experience to include Workday experience

Desired Experience:

  • 7+ years of Human Resources and Information Technology experience

  • 5+ years of Workday

  • Solutions Architect experience, e.g.; creates the overall technical vision for a specific solution to a business problem

  • Talent Acquisition, payroll and compensation experience in Workday

  • Workday consulting experience


Potential Salary: $170,000.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
