Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist in Corporate Risk as part of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Business Aligned Compliance. This Senior Compliance Specialist will oversee and credibly challenge the reporting, escalation and timely remediation of compliance-related issues, deficiencies, or regulatory matters with specific focus on CIB Operations.
In this role, you will:
Serve as the Lead Business Aligned Compliance Officer (BACO) for Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities
Provide input to compliance risk assessments and compliance risk reporting
Identify, implement and execute compliance monitoring activities
Partner with other BACOs to assess regulatory gaps, control deficiencies or other matters that impact CIB Operations
Provide oversight and monitoring of business group risk based compliance programs
Establish, implement and maintain risk standards and programs to drive compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory and Corporate Policy requirements
Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately on compliance related decisions
Develop, oversee, and provide independent credible challenge to standards with subject matter expertise
Provide direction to the business on developing corrective action plans and effectively managing regulatory change
Report findings and make recommendations to management and appropriate committees
Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Make decisions and resolve issues to meet business objectives
Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Work with complex business units, rules and regulations on moderate to high risk compliance matters
Interface with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics
Required Qualifications, US:
- 4+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of FINRA, SEC, CFTC, MSRB regulations impacting the operational processes of institutional broker-dealers, swap dealers, municipal securities dealers or futures commission merchants
FINRA registration including Series 7 or 99 (or FINRA recognized equivalents), or willingness to obtain within six months of hire date
Strong knowledge of risks and controls, and ability to apply knowledge to RCSA activities
Self-motivated with ability to balance multiple activities and re-prioritize as needed, often with limited supervision
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to multiple stakeholders
