Job Description

The EFCC Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is responsible for the collection, analysis, and surveillance of data sources relevant to the identification and investigation of unusual financial transaction activities. FIU also partners with other EFCC teams and Business Lines to create innovative solutions to critical business challenges through advanced analytic techniques.

This individual will work in the Strategic Analytics Team (SAT) under the FIU. The Strategic Analytics Team regularly takes on high-profile projects related to emerging risk identification, process automation and optimization, data exploration, regulatory requests, and efficiency improvement opportunities. In addition, the SAT executes ongoing data enrichment and metrics reporting to support our EFCC partners' daily operations.

SAT is seeking an RCA Manager with expertise in compliance/risk management, big data analytics, and data management. The candidate will provide data analytics support across FIU and SAT, including data issue remediation, new data source exploration, emerging risk identification, project management, and regulatory exam support. The role involves active engagement with various stakeholders in EFCC, RM&C and Business Lines. Experience in AML monitoring, fraud detection, and data analytics is preferred.

The candidate must have the ability to comprehend data from various systems. This includes analyzing data sources, understanding data flow, and utilizing this data knowledge to support emerging risk exploration effectively. The candidate must be proficient in managing project progress within the team, ensuring that timelines and objectives are met. Additionally, they should possess the capability to prepare executive-style materials in collaboration with the team, effectively communicating findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.

It is expected that this individual will be highly self-motivated, organized, and an effective manager of time with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Technical skill and experience in data analytics, solution creation, SAS/SQL programming are critical to the daily work. This individual will have proven capabilities in analytical projects that require communication and coordination with team members and partners.

Specific Responsibilities:

· Execute strategies to assemble transaction information across multiple platforms

· Conduct data exploration, quantitative research, and data mining to uncover money laundering patterns

· Work with external resources and leverage advanced technology to improve detection effectiveness

· Present findings, highlight de-risking opportunities and identify risk assessment improvement options to team members, stakeholders, and senior management

· Support data analyses within a compliance organization

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, and 10 or more years of relevant experience

OR

  • MA/MS in a quantitative field, and six or more years of related experience

OR

  • PhD in a quantitative field, and five or more years of related experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or comparable work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.

• 10 or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

• Strong experience in data research and exploration

• Strong data handling, interpretive, and problem-solving skills with the ability to process large volumes of transaction-level data.

• Strong experience with data warehouses, relational database structures, or a Hadoop framework

• The successful candidate must demonstrate a relentless drive and demonstrable ability to achieve high quality results in a creative fashion while working independently

• Demonstrated attention to detail, high quality work, and the ability to produce clear, concise work products

• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills needed to work effectively in a team environment

• Ability to collaborate with individuals across business and/or functional lines

• Prior experience with development of supporting professional documentation (white papers, program manuals, proposals, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) for all programs to be shared with senior leaders, Corporate Audit Services and regulatory partners

• Experience working with Unix platform preferred

• Experience with data visualization preferred

NOTE: This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $129,455.00 - $152,300.00 - $167,530.00
