Atrium Health Quality Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Summary

Manages day to day activities of System Quality initiatives, monitors improvement activities and compliance with requirements related to same. Support the Quality and Safety Reputation programs for the enterprise.

Essential Functions

  • Create and maintain reports related to quality and safety measures in publicly reported programs.

  • Stay abreast of publicly reported programs.

  • Analyze and interpret data on key strategic safety, quality and experience performance metrics.

  • Collaborates with various groups at all levels of the organization to maximize system performance and ensure proper monitoring, escalation, and resolution of any significant quality measure performance issue or trend.

  • Assist leadership in the planning of a systematic, organization-wide approach to medical performance improvement.

  • Identifies and secures charts for review as required; performs chart review utilizing knowledge.

  • Performs data abstraction from charts and system programs.

  • Coordinates meetings as required by department.

  • Acts as a committee resource and/or facilitator to assist in identifying opportunities for improvement, developing action plans, monitoring pending cases and follow-up.

  • Works closely with departments across the enterprise as needed.

  • Assists with quality projects.

  • Provides physician specific information to departments as required

Physical Requirements

Works in a busy open-office type setting. Frequent deadlines. Involves walking, standing, and sitting. Transports charts throughout the facility to accomplish reviews. Must speak and understand English fluently.

Education, Experience and Certifications

RN, LPN, RHIT, RHIA preferred. Current NC Nursing Licensure required if RN. Bachelor's Degree and certification as a healthcare Quality Professional (CPHQ) preferred. One year of Quality Assessment and/or coding experience required or formal education (1 semester minimum) in PI/Quality principles. Skilled in using personal computer with the ability to demonstrate working knowledge of applications such as Excel and Word required. Good oral and written communication skills. Previous JCAHO preparation experience preferred. Experiences with databases preferred.
