The OpportunityThe Digital Product Principal is responsible for leading, developing and executing projects from conception to implementation as we build our Wealth advisory product. The candidate will primarily be responsible for executing on the product vision by owning the team to build a simple and intuitive user experience including end-to-end production definition, cross-team planning and coordination, design and launch using a variety of leading-edge development methodologies. This role works closely with the Product Director and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Work Itself• Actively partner with the Product Director and business Product Manager to develop features that focus on optimization, innovation, and the client experience.• Facilitate and lead requirements capturing session with business partners. Work with cross-functional teams to identify key business requirements that address competitive differentiators, client usability, revenue generations, fulfillment and client service needs, risk mitigation, and overall customer happiness.• Write and maintain detailed requirements that include defining the customer experience and identifying systems and processes that need to be improved. This includes the definition of use cases and user workflows.• Work closely with design/usability teams to clearly define the user experience specifications.• Provide feedback/assistance in converting all requirements into viable user stories for Scrum methodology.• Be the SME for providing guidance and clarification with any requirements/stories as required and giving assistance with any impediment resolution. Work closely with technology and QA during the development cycle to ensure features are developed, tested, and ultimately accepted/released to production.• When applicable, work with vendors that support or will support your features. This includes helping the Product Owner define any deliverables from a contract perspective that are required to support products/features.• Be willing and able to work on projects of all sizes and importance.• Be able to conduct industry and competitive analysis in order to inspire changes to the customer experience or product offering.The Skills You Bring• Experience in financial services industry or have working knowledge of the brokerage industry as well as knowledge of online self-directed trading space. FINRA licenses/certifications a plus.• 5+ years of overall product owner experience.• Deep understanding of online investing/trading.• Experience in working in Agile/Scrum product development lifecycles.• General understanding of website technologies.• Experience collaborating in a dynamic, fast-paced, cross-functional environment.• Strong communicator who can effectively process constructive feedback while keeping the user and brand in mind. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
