Lowe's Lead Technology Program Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

Lowe’s Technology organization believes that in-person collaboration is highly effective and helps build relationships and strengthens our culture. As such, we are leveraging an Open Office approach in how we work, meaning our tech associates will leverage time in the office to focus on highly collaborative activities as well as some remote / work from home time for autonomous endeavors. Each role has different business-driven collaboration needs that will require in-office presence.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to have single-threaded ownership of delivering Technology Programs that cross multiple Portfolio and/or Product/Project teams.

Manages one or more large, highly complex and/or high impact programs (complex initiative with extended durations and/or agile value stream) , with full responsibility and accountability for the delivery and outcomes of any/all value within the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Escalate and track impediments, manage risk and dependencies, help ensure value delivery, and help drive relentless improvement.

  • Facilitate Program level events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.Support Business, IT, and Product Management alignment on vision, roadmap, and priorities of the Program

  • Work with Product Management, Solutions Management, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment

  • Facilitate agile Program processes and execution

  • Coaches leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets

  • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating epic estimation by teams

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Program using various tools and other information radiators

  • Facilitate Program level ceremonies

  • Establish a cadence and support cross-Program planning centered around value streams

  • Assist tracking the execution of features within the Program

  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings within and across Programs

  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks

  • Encourage collaboration between teams

  • Work with the Agile Portfolio Management Office (APMO) on program execution and operational excellence

  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops

  • Assess the agility level of the Program and help them improve

  • Provide the support needed by the Agile Delivery Teams, Product Teams, and Programs to be self-organizing and self-managing

  • Support recruiting and retention efforts to deliver world class agile support

  • To be successful, the individual in this role must leverage a background working directly with or in the technology function and apply deep expertise in Agile IT related project/program management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)

• 7 years of experience in IT or technology focused business area

• 5 years of experience managing IT specific projects/programs involving the implementation of SDLC project life cycle methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)

• 5 years of experience developing project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) / User Stories used to create project schedules and estimates

• 3 years of experience managing operational or project/program financial budgets in the technology space

• Experience leading technology project teams with or without direct report responsibility

• Background in business analysis, software design, software development, data architecture, operating systems, software testing or related technical area

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, or related field

• Project Management Institute (PMI) or other project/program management certification

• 6 years of experience in IT project planning and coordination and working on projects or programs requiring the integration of cross-functional IT solutions

• 3 years of experience using formal business process improvement methodologies

• Corporate retail experience
