Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full-Time Nocturnist Cardiology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide quality care to the patients we serve in the Charlotte community. Specialty care APPs provide services focused concentration on a single system caring for acute and chronically ill patients. Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center is in the heart of central Charlotte, NC.
Position Highlights :
Inpatient coverage only
Night shift, with Holiday rotation
APP managed consultative service, with physician back up. Average census of 10 patients
Lead an inpatient cardiology service providing autonomous and quality care for acutely and chronically ill patients with cardiac specific disease processes.
Ideal Candidate:
At least 1 year of experience in cardiology working as an APP.
Effective communication (written and verbal).
Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills who can grow the CV service line through collaboration with other provider groups.
Current on best practice and standards of care.
Displays self-initiative to learn.
Qualifications:
Relevant inpatient cardiology experience required. New Graduate are not being considered at this time.
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required.
BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works.
Nurse Practitioner – Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. Acute Care board certification required based upon population and acuity served. At this time Family Nurse Practitioners candidates are not being considered for this position .
Physician Assistant – Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Master’s Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Must have at least one year of relevant cardiology experience.
