Atrium Health Director - Patient Accounting in Charlotte, North Carolina

Primary Purpose

Supports the analysis and reporting of the enterprise denial avoidance teams encompassing both hospitals (HB) and physicians (PB) in both regions (Midwest & Southeast). Directs enterprise denial reporting and analysis consistency and data integrity to be shared with key stakeholders across the Advocate Health organization. Provides direction on reporting synergies across regions and market.

Major Responsibilities

  • Direction and creation of enterprise denial reporting across all regions markets for both HB & PB.

  • SlicerDicer reporting, Epic dashboard creation, and other denial related analysis tools.

  • Identifies and monitors patterns of opportunity for enterprise denial avoidance.

  • Assists in identifying strategies to improve overall feedback and reporting/analysis to key stakeholders.

  • Source of truth for denial reporting and analysis.

  • Maintains Remittance Master Code (RMC) file for enterprise in conjunction with IT, Billing Operations, and other key stakeholders.

  • Serves and a liaison for multifaceted project management.

  • Responsible for monitoring utilization and training end users to apply reporting available.

Supervisory/Managment Responsibilities

  • Manages team of senior analysts who support denial reporting and analytics

  • Sets enterprise priorities for reporting with enterprise objections.

  • Conducts direct report performance evaluations, approves time, and involved in hiring process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem solving.

  • Requires in depth knowledge of Epic reporting platforms.

  • Able to collaborate with cross functional teams and requires innovative thinking and skills to drive solutions.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

  • Exposed to a normal office environment.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, or Health Administration required. 3 years experience in physician patient accounting preferred.
