Novant Health Director of Market Institutes in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Director of Market Institutes supports Novant Medical Group (NMG) physicians and clinics in delivering the highest quality, compassionate, accessible care to patients; integrating with the Novant system; ensuring compliance and regulatory standards; innovating care delivery; and achieving the highest levels of clinical and operational excellence.

This position provides leadership for the successful operations and overall performance for a specific group of medical clinics in a defined geographical area within Novant Medical Group; leads and ensures the operational precision and infrastructure of assigned areas of responsibility to achieve clinic and submarket goals including safety, financial vitality, human experience, team member engagement, physician partnerships, and quality; manages and directs strategic growth and operational excellence projects for the service line.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, required. Master`s degree, preferred.

Experience:

  • Two (2) years healthcare experience.

  • Experience with continuous improvement theory, methods and tools.

  • Previous experience in managing multiple teams simultaneously preferred.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communication with senior leadership and all levels of team members.

  • Responsible for the performance of multiple physician clinics as well as the leadership development of each clinic’s practice manager.

  • Coordinates Medical Group initiatives within geographic area.

  • Monitor and drive clinic success and results by partnering with physicians, NMG and market leaders and support departments, and assists in executing NMG and market initiatives.

  • Navigates system and market based structure to ensure clinic support.

  • Provides leadership and direction for clinic managers and holds leadership accountability for results.

  • Develops leadership skills of clinic managers and self, and communicates effectively to inform, align and engage others.

  • Assists in transforming processes, care delivery, collaborates with other Medical Group leaders to identify and implement best practices.

  • Completes generic and department specific competency assessment.

  • Strategic and business planning, regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; skills in interviewing and selection process; understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes; implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations.

  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned programs throughout the program lifecycle, from concept to final implementation using effective program/project management practices, including leading multi-disciplinary teams that will include all levels of personnel, vendors, and clients in the creation and deployment of a Novant Health enterprise program strategic solution associated with the investment in business growth, enterprise standardization, transitions resulting from mergers and acquisitions.

  • Have ownership of directing, facilitating and managing the program change control process which includes scope change, budget change, schedule change, and overall financial performance of program.

  • Support team members by coaching and mentoring them to be more productive and understand project work.
