Atrium Health Director - Facilities Technology Metrics and Analytics in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Summary

Provides the strategic, and operational oversite of corporate services that support enterprise-wide facility operations, to include hospital campuses, ambulatory clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and other facilities throughout the enterprise. Conducts extensive research, data collection, evaluation, and analysis to drive continuous improvement. Strong leadership qualities, communication, and listening skills will enable efficiencies and innovation to ensure Advocate Health is at the cutting edge of facilities management.

Essential Functions

  • Identifies opportunities for cost effective methods of reducing energy costs and consumption through fault analytic technologies to improve the performance of building systems.

  • Coordinate, implement, maintain, and monitor monitoring-based commissioning (RCx) systems and opportunities which arise from such systems.

  • Assesses existing facilities, procedures and practices related to facility performance and energy consumption. Assists in incorporating energy efficient principles, standards, and technologies into new and renovation projects.

  • Responsible to oversee and support various technology solutions to support efficient and cost-effective site operations.

  • Provides leadership and direction for contracting services, assuring they are managed effectively and with best outcome of value and risk management for all facility type services. Including the development and implementation of enterprise-wide performance metrics.

Specific responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:

  • Develops metrics, scorecards, and analytics of data and information to help Facilities team to become more efficient in the delivery of services and support.

  • Recommends equipment and operational strategies to maximize operating efficiency. Analysis of replacement capital investment via life cycle costing analysis / simple payback metric.

  • Provides review of standards with engineering design team to ensure adherence and budget capacity for facilities and infrastructure projects.

  • Designs, recommends and oversees equipment building standards with engineering design professionals to support ongoing energy performance of facilities.

  • Maintain commissioning and building envelope commissioning standards.

Training Management

  • Provides leadership that supports a facilities training program that develops teammate growth and maintains consistency of training for specific certifications and skill sets to support a highly expertise work force.

  • Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches, and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is systematically improved.

  • Develops and/or recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

  • Exposed to a normal office environments well as hospital / site conditions when observing work / rounding.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Ten (10) years minimum work experience in facilities functions. Includes minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role, preferably in healthcare environment. Industry certifications and/or license specific to area of responsibility may be required.
