Novant Health Dietitian - Pediatrics in Charlotte, North Carolina
Novant Health Pediatric Endocrinology is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Outpatient Pediatric Dietitian to join our healthcare team.
As an Outpatient Pediatric Dietitian, you will provide specialized nutrition counseling and education to pediatric patients and their families in both one-on-one and group settings.
You will perform thorough nutrition assessments, provide evidence-based and age-appropriate nutrition counseling, and develop personalized treatment plans that align with the patient’s nutrition goals, medical conditions, and dietary preferences.
You will offer specialized dietary guidance for infants, children, and adolescents, taking into consideration their growth, development, and specific dietary needs. Monitor progress regularly and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. Provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for a variety of needs including but not limited to diabetes, obesity, celiac disease, growth disorders, hematology, oncology, gastrointestinal disorders, feeding difficulties, and nutrition support. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with relevant regulations and policies. Stay abreast of the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in pediatric nutrition. Share expertise with colleagues and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelors in dietetics, nutrition, foods and nutrition, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Clinical Dietitian, required.
Licensure/Certification: Registered Dietitian status by the commission on Dietetic Registration, required. Licensed Dietitian in appropriate state, required.
Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Knowledge, ability and skills to support patient education and patient engagement in self-care management to accommodate cultural diversity, age specific or behavior needs among the patients being served.
Additional Skills (preferred): Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to relay information to diverse audiences for one-on-one consultations, small and large group presentations; dynamic presence for media interviews, health fairs and other invited presentations/appearances.
