Job Summary
Provides professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients. Treats patients from neonatal to the geriatric population, requiring surgical, obstetrical and other anesthesia services. Possesses additional training, education and/or experience in the provision of anesthesia care to patients who present with complex and unique anesthetic requirements.
Essential Functions
Provides anesthesia care to patients who present with complicated, pre-existing disease, advanced disease states and/or who present with complex and unique anesthetic requirements.
Researches, communicates, instructs and coordinates the anesthetic care for these patients with their anesthesia colleagues.
Demonstrates clinical methods for student registered nurse anesthetists so that they may gain experience in the provision of anesthesia care to these patients.
Performs additional departmental duties pertinent to these patients as directed by Leadership.
Physical Requirements
Able to work in a fast paced surgical setting. Requires walking, standing, lifting and handling of supplies and equipment.
Education, Experience and Certifications
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina required. Successful completion of a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs, certified by the Council on Certification or, who is re-certified by the Council on Recertification required. Master's Degree in Nursing required. Additional training, education and/or experience will be documented with credentials, certification, continuing education and/or experience. 3 years CRNA experience required. BLS and ACLS HCP from AHA required
