The Work Itself This role will support the growth and evolution of Ally's consumer and lending businesses and consumer-level strategic initiatives by developing thoughtful and detailed research plans in collaboration with our product and channel teams. This position will serve as a constant thread tying the business and research teams together. The Consumer Research Strategy Director will work with senior leaders across Ally consumer businesses and channels to drive proactive research strategies that support key critical initiatives. * Understand business and channel capabilities and plans at a depth to be able to navigate complexities and problem-solve to achieve combined success. * Compare strategies and initiative plans across the team for opportunities to improve impact; build from product-centric towards a consumer-level approach * Build and champion research practices and model a culture of broad thinking and collaboration across all key stakeholders * Partner with Research Execution team to ensure insights and action deliver on the research plan to further propel Ally's consumer businesses forward * Work with 3rd party CX firms to understand benchmarks, Ally specific information and drive action plans and reviews with internal stakeholders The Skills You Bring * Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, social sciences, or related field * 5+ years of market research experience in a business to consumer setting, financial services experience is a plus * Excellent critical thinking, project management, analytical, communication, and presentation skills * Experience across different research methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative * Excellent critical thinking, project management, analytical, communication, and presentation skills * Able to establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization, be viewed as a standout colleague and work effectively under pressure and with tight deadlines * Not afraid to work with granular details while managing and seeing the bigger, strategic view * High level of intellectual curiosity combined with a 'results-driven' mindset and high EQ * Ability to work effectively with senior executives * Highly self-motivated with ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously How We'll Have Your Back Ally's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
