Ally Compliance Assessments Director in Charlotte, North Carolina

Position Description The Compliance Assessments Compliance Director will be responsible for taking a leadership role in the coordination and support of the Compliance risk assessments and other programs for Ally Consumer and Commercial Banking (C&CB). The Compliance Director will lead the CMS program for the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) compliance as well as perform assessments in C&CB. Job Responsibilities * Reports CRA Compliance state of compliance for the business line and senior management. * Conducts risk assessments of compliance risk within CRA. Coordinates risk assessments of other business lines. * Conducts due diligence of any acquired businesses. * Candidate will be responsible for determining appropriate internal monitoring routines for compliance with applicable regulations. * Determines appropriate training content for CRA staff. * Reviews all compliance related issues and approves action plans for remediation. * Provides guidance to business partners in determining regulatory risk, including regulatory change, and effectively communicate these risks both vertically and laterally to ensure all levels of management understand the risks posed by regulatory requirements * Consults with Legal department and business line partners to determine and understand risks/problems and assist with determining mitigation strategies and implementation plans * Coordinates feedback from other Compliance SME's and communicates them to business partners for all applicable regulatory requirements to be addressed in new initiatives * Advises less experienced Compliance staff on routine or technical issues * Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding policy application and interpretation * Assembles and reviews documentation for regulatory examinations * Miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications * Education level: Minimum - Bachelors' degree in business or related major * Major field of study: * Certifications or special training needed: CRCM or equivalent certification preferred * Total years and type of prior related experience: 7+ years in regulatory compliance preferred * Candidate should have a thorough knowledge of regulations that directly impact banking products, including, but not limited to: * Truth in Lending and Regulation Z * Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B * Fair Credit Reporting Act * Anti-Money Laundering * Privacy Laws * CAN-SPAM * The E-SIGN Act * CRA * Deposits Regulations * Ability to respond quickly to a changing environment * Ability to influence others and initiate change * Ability to work effectively as a member of a team * Willingness to be flexible and take on new assignments as directed * Excellent oral and written communication skills Ally Overview Ally Financial Inc.
