Equitable is looking an influential and dynamic Leader to join our team! The Claims Quality Assurance Leader will develop, own, and lead the claims quality assurance program for Equitable’s Employee Benefits claims organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Claims, this role is pivotal in ensuring efficient and effective processing of claims, compliance with regulatory standards, and meeting the diverse needs of our clients.

This individual must be able to translate Employee Benefits’ “Powerfully Simple” vision into into actionable, quantitative and innovative plans, including leading the design, ideation and build of the Employee Benefit’s Claims Quality Program and processes.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Create and execute on Employee Benefit’s claims quality assurance strategy, including both the ideation and implementation the organization’s quality program.

  • Implementation: Ensure the timely deployment of technology and processes in support of both the initial build of quality assurance program and ongoing enhancements.

  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality assurance of claims processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with policies and regulations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Leverage feedback and monitor industry trends, adjusting quality assurance practices and models as needed to drive efficiencies and improve the client experience.

  • Customer Service: Maintain high standards of customer service and support in all quality assurance-related interactions.

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Manage risks related to claims processing quality, including adherence to internal guidelines and standards as well as legal and regulatory standards.

  • Leadership: Lead and manage a robust quality assurance organization, including attracting and retaining top industry talent from across all areas of the business and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal departments, external vendors, and other key stakeholders to execute a market-leading quality assurance strategy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

The base salary range for this position is $87,000 - $150,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in claims quality assurance in the employee benefits space

  • 5 years of people management experience with excellent leadership and team management abilities

  • Detailed knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and regulatory guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Previous experience leading quality programs for the following employee benefits products: Disability; Paid and Unpaid Leaves; Life Insurance; Accident; Critical Illness; Hospital Indemnity; Dental; Vision; and Life Waiver of Premium.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance technologies and industry trends

  • Proven track record of innovative problem solving

  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills and ability to collaboratively problem-solve

  • Comfortable dealing with both complexity and ambiguity

Skills

Quality Assurance Management: Knowledge of quality assurance management; ability to implement strategies and techniques used to ensure that claims processing meets the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Product and Vendor Evaluation: Knowledge of product and vendor evaluation; ability to implement processes for the evaluation and selection of products, tools, services and infrastructure components ensuring they are in line with an organization's business needs and architectural principles.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
