Ally Business Analyst, Mortgage Oversight in Charlotte, North Carolina

Position Description – Business Analyst, Mortgage Oversight The Mortgage Servicing Operations Analyst will support the day-to-day operational activities and monitoring of Ally Bank's mortgage sub-servicer and handle non-delegated decisions on behalf of Ally Bank. The primary functions of the analyst will be to handle escalations & research from the sub-servicer relating to mortgage loan servicing while providing direction in line with Mortgage Servicing Oversight’s policies & procedures. Examples of mortgage servicing escalations include subordination requests, escrows, HELOC directives, and requests from internal business partners related to servicing. Additionally, the Analyst may assist with non-delegated default operations, interim servicing and document requests. The Analyst will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and reconciling sub-servicer data as it relates to payment processing, loss mitigation, adjustable-rate data, and other loan level parameters. The role will require working with the sub-servicer and partnering with internal business partners to ensure any request for information or resolution is completed accurately and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in the day-to-day servicing aspects of mortgage loans such as customer and default servicing, escrow and payment transactions & activity. Job Responsibilities * Review and respond to sub-servicer's non-delegated loan level decision requests * Work with internal and external partners to provide the necessary subject matter expertise that addresses any/all loan level questions or issues * Research, escalate, and provide decisions on behalf of Ally utilizing procedures * Timely and accurate handling of all incoming requests from the subservicer and Ally business partners (Accounting / Risk / Compliance, etc.), Customer Service, Legal and others * Partner with sub-servicer to develop and maintain processes and procedures related to mortgage servicing operations and identify procedural/control gaps and areas for increased efficiencies * Appropriately raise and/or escalate concerns and issues to management with resolution and recommendations * Run, maintain, and work reports to be used with daily, monthly & quarterly management updates (i.e., SAP) * Assist management with ad-hoc projects, process enhancements, Self-Identified Issues and other initiatives as defined leadership, including backup coverage for team deliverables * Develop and update Mortgage policies and procedures as needed * Miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications * BS/BA required or equivalent mortgage servicing experience, preferably 2-5 years * Understanding of mortgage servicing operations and sub-servicer duties * Background or direct experience in performing and non-performing loan servicing * Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment * Maintain a high degree of accuracy and productivity t * Ability to problem-solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of initiative * Strong communication skills * Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, strong organization and time management skills * Ability to execute under tight timelines and prioritize accordingly * Knowledge of SAP or other query languages is preferred * Experience with default servicing and loss mitigation regulatory requirements is a plus * Direct experience in HELOC servicing preferred * Strong working knowledge of mortgage banking practices and systems (MSP preferred) Ally Overview Ally Financial Inc.
